Hey, guys. I drive a 2021 Civic Sport Touring. It's the 1.5L turbo, L15 with CVT transmission. Any ideas why I only get 21mpg? As a civic, I kind of expected better from it.. I've seen other 10th gens pulling 28-30 mpg. Any advice?
Barring any obvious mechanical issues where it might just smell like raw gas coming out the tailpipe and throwing smoke, there usually 2 causes of low mileage in cars:
1) Excessive idling
2) Excessive acceleration
Lots of city driving in stop and go traffic combines both of these in the worst possible way. If it does ok on a straight highway run, but it is bad on your normal drive, it may be worth considering how your habits might be affecting your mileage.

My ‘21 Sport Hatch 1.5/6MT reliably got 40, most of the time.
See that's what I want 😭 30 would make me happy.
What is the temperature? If it’s cold, mpg will drop.
Hot or cold. Dont matter. 110. 50. Same same
What octane fuel are you using?
Says premium on the gas tank. So i use 93
Different year Civic. I lived in a flat area & got 35MPG. Moved to a hilly area & get 25MPG. Mine is a regular Civic & I drive like a grandma
I get 30 on my 9th gen, goes down to 27 when I start doing shorter trips or idling more often
