When I moved away to university at 17 years old, my mom immediately turned my bedroom into a guest room. They already had a guest space in the office and another in the rec room, and they never have guests. That pretty much sums up my relationship with my parents.
I’m so sorry. It’s very thoughtless of them to close out your bedroom.
If you have moved back just make it your own. If you’re there for the holidays just work with it even though it lacks any warmth and all. Remember you don’t have to pay for a hotel.
My easy fix (after a whole lot of much more heinous and unforgivable bullshit from them) was to stop talking to them entirely 😆 It's been 6 years and I feel great.
I was driving to college and 5 minutes after I left home, I remembered I wanted my hand weights. Went back and my room was already getting turned over for my younger sister (whose room was in the basement).
Really made me think how quickly I could be forgotten and that I better make this college thing work.
Almost looks like one of those hotel notices on the counter, too. Round mirror is weird though. And usually motel air is long and thin. But there are exceptions.
Maybe it is a motel? Because even the sign on the dresser looks like one from a motel. Maybe that’s the “joke” of the post? lol idk but if it is, kinda clever haha like they’re obviously not staying with their folks for the holidays but they’re in town to visit? 🤷🏼♀️
My room at my great grandmas looked just like this (similar quilts too. The only difference is we had a closet instead of a dresser and there was a nightstand between the beds with a small lamp
When I moved out (I’m the baby of the family) my mom and dad gutted the floor my bedroom was on and made it into one big bedroom with a full blown hot-tub/shower room
You still have a bad? Look at this fancy guy. This room should be a sewing room or gym by now.
Or all of the above - the junk room

Looks like just a cheap guest room to me. The twin beds are a bit odd though for a guest room.
This is the type of room that sleep sacks were made for. I have stayed in many hostels that were better appointed
With a shag carpet and an avocado green refrigerator
I didn’t know they made motel 6 bed sheets in twin size!
Tom Burdette: We'll leave the light on for ya
They had a fire sale on the bedspreads is what we said when staying at the same hotel name in different states and bedspreads were the same. 😅😅
🤣🤣
Seriously! That was my thought exactly. This looks like a cheap hotel room.
My feet are reacting to this picture as if I’m actually feeling this carpet right now. I hope it’s been cleaned in the past 40 years.
Just needs a huge cross above it and it’ll be perfectly cozy!!!
With Jesus on it
Ur parents run a motel?
A scary motel. in the woods. with a raging storm knocking down trees and power lines so a handful of random people are stuck...
I saw a movie like that. Can't think of title.
Until Dawn
Good game!
Was the movie called Identity, with John Cusack, Ray Liotta, and Amanda Peet?
That's it. I remember John Cusack for sure. (I have a sh*tty memory)
Looks like a hotel room with the air conditioner in that low position. Never seen that in a home

did they hire Motel 8 to decorate it?
Florida baby!! Just look at that baseball mirror on the drawers!!
Flashbacks
This is mom and dad's room, right? Magnificent. Can't wait to see where you're sleeping.
“Be our guest, loser”
Looks like it needs a little 🔨and 🔥
Is this in Pennsylvania?
I’d love to sleep here this looks so cozy and kind of nostalgic
I can smell the must
Dang it has it all! You have the umm…colorful bedspread, round mirror dresser, and look at that gorgeous floor lamp. I’m flabbergasted!
Yay! Let’s decorate!!!
Did your mom swipe a motel bed cover and chop it Into to twin covers?
Lovely
Did you use a time machine to get there?

Looks comfy.

Did they buy the furniture from a foreclosed hotel chain?
Did your folks steal the bed bug covers at a cheap motel? These comforters are sending me
.
What is with the square on the wall? Is it covering up windows or what?
It looks very Amishy
