The Centennial Red Wings Howe I picked up from Gameday Detroit. I'm not going to say the numbers being fully stitched, the name not being on nameplate, plus no garbage patch and it still being cheaper than the Detroit pro shop was a factor but... it was. lol
The 25 anniversary Greaves was an alters blank I picked up on sale from Fanatics. Custom work done by the Blue Line CBJ pro shop. The anniversary might be a little depressing currently but I did want to honor Greaves entry into the NHL. No one else in wanted to give the patch to.
Howe looks great. The ones with the nameplate just look cheap with wings jerseys
So before I pulled the trigger and picked Gameday Detroit as my retailer I was driving myself crazy going through the Red Wings sub and comparing the quantity of jerseys people were getting both directly from Fanatics and from the team shop. Between the botched centennial roll out and the botched Stadium Series roll out I don't need a third instance to declare they don't know how to handle large orders. Which is crazy considering what business they are supporting.
As for Fanatics, again early, but I think we can safely say what they have brought to NHL jerseys is just bog standard mass production. The number material isn't as sturdy. It seems to crease crazy easily. They do shit like make a bunch of nameplates to slap on jerseys, even if that isn't how the on ice product is, just to get numbers to the racks. Also the collar alignment issues Adidas never had. All basic corner cutting bs to increase supply. It's really something to see after being in the hobby for a while.
Yea I’ve gotten to the point where I just order blanks and have vintage Detroit do them. Turnaround time is pretty fast and they do great work
I feel it. I'm a Columbus local so go to the CBJ pro shop for anything CBJ. But for other other teams I usually use EPS or HA but their turn around times kind of suck. lol I was extremely thankful to the Red Wings sub for tuning me into Vintage Detroit and Gameday Detroit.
Hate to say it because mine has one. I was an uneducated buyer at the team store.
If I knew I could have gotten a higher quality stitching and no priority patch I would have… I just figured the team store would be the premier place to get one. Little disappointed, not gonna lie
Yeah I mean still a cool jersey though. 99% of the fans won’t even notice. I mean half of them are wearing Chinese knockoffs.
Haha so true
Idk why but I really love the sleeves on the jackets jersey. That thin red line with the star just look great to me
I don't get the hate the standard CBJ uniforms get? The worst criticism I'll grant there is a lot of blank space but it's done in a very clean way.
I feel like I’ve never heard much hate for them. They’re not bad they’re just…meh. They’re generally pretty forgettable and not all that iconic. I do like the touches on them, but I fully see why they’re overlooked
I've seen them end up on the bottom of lots of peoples jersey ranking and I do get the meh response to them but like ... Washington exists....
Yeah, the Caps jerseys literally look like they were made by a government agency. Just lacking so much. The caps need to make the eagle their main jersey and the Jackets need to make the cannon their main
That's the killer for both of them. They both have very obvious choices for doing a rebrand that are much more delived
