It works if i type in .old. but if I follow a link or go through my history I wind up on new.
It's frustrating, I made the selection in preferences for a reason, it fells like they are ignoring my wishes.
It's happening on firefox and chrome.

use the Old Reddit Redirect extension
This happens to me every time I log out and log in again (which I do frequently.)
I used to just explicitly use old.reddit.com, but I noticed a couple of trivial inconveniences going that way, and decided to try the "Opt Out" again.
It's a new habit I've just been getting used to, but I should think they'd find it not all that hard to just fix the bug.
(New Reddit is just mostly unpalatable for me, though there a a couple of nice features.)
After hitting the opt out on new reddit, go to old.reddit.com and go to the preferences there, at the bottom of the page check the option ON for beta features, and then an option will appear to default to new reddit, which should be unchecked.
