Hello! Just stopping by to drop off the new Changelog! You can read it here!

TL;DR New Changelog

  • 1.Can you tell us when android users are getting free awards? i really want to give out some but it seems you guys only pushed it out to some IOS users

A more prominent search bar on the main screen that includes a new Ask button for easier access to our AI-powered search experience

2.I feel like putting this button where the X button used to be is a bad idea as people will accidentally click it when trying to press the X button

Community color theming now on Android

    1. Top tier change

The bottom navigation bar includes a new Inbox tab to access all notifications and chats, a profile tab which takes you directly to your profile (the side profile drawer has been removed), and a Games tab

Why this change? the side profile drawer was easy to use and had everything at quick accese but with it removed you now have to navigate more menus to get to something like settings or achievements

I also feel like a reddit games tab is not needed. Or at least have an option for users who dont use games to hide it

I'm not exactly sure why the change. It does seem like it's trying to simplify things, though. I'll share your feedback with that team!

The Games tab can be collapsed, but not removed. It should stay collapsed once you collapse it, however.

I want to echo the sentiment that the elimination of the sidebar is horrible. I can't figure out how to get to the account switcher now. Is the account switcher just completely gone? I'm so close to just manually logging out and logging into an account that doesn't have this stupid redesign just so the app is usable again.

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! Right now, the free awards experiment is just on iOS. I'm sorry! <cries in Android>

It looks like the Ask button is just to the right of the X. So hopefully, people will still see the X. Regardless, I've shared this feedback with the search team.

  • When will you fix the “new wiki experience” so that it is usable?

I don't know what you feel is wrong with it.

Thanks for that link! I found the team in charge of that and a bug ticket has been filed. Unfortunately, I don't have an estimate as to when that will be fixed. The imperfect workaround at this point seems to be to create a new page with allowed symbols and place the new subpages under it.

That would break all of our wiki’s structure. It’s bad enough that I explicitly requested to NOT migrate to the new wiki and then was “accidentally” migrated anyway.

I first reported this to u/jeffy-bezos over a month ago.

Hey. OK, I heard back and if you want to be removed, that can be done IF you are comfortable with losing any changes that were made after the community was migrated.

  • Thanks legend.

    Thanks for being here!

  • Perfect! Useful 😊

  • Are you a supporter of fungi? I feel like Reddit is really leaning towards anti-fungus, and I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Mushrooms are gross. They have the consistency of an eraser. No, thank you. lol

    oh, okay :(

we will remember the time the Reddit admins betrayed us

The good news is that I don't want to take any mushrooms away from anyone else! Y'all can have my share! XD

    okay...

    the mushroom uprising is coming

  • Please change my user interface back

Any luck with your request? Some of the new changes are awful.

  • I would love if I could get the traffic to my subreddits broken down by country of origin like the IOS app does. I'm on desktop, ALWAYS, and could really use this info to identify the percentages of bad actors posting in my subs from countries that have no place being in my subs.

Hey! I agree that would be cool! I'll ask the team if that is something that is coming in the future.

Hi, I'm back! Unfortunately, I learned that there are not current plans to make any changes to insights. I'm so sorry! But I did share your feedback with them!

I sincerely hope they take the security of their users more seriously in the future. I kept you guys from being in the news in a very bad way. Y'all owe me a favor :P

  • [removed]

This is not the place to appeal your subreddit ban or reddit suspension.

If you need to reach the moderators of r/help send a modmail including a link to your content.

We cannot guarantee a response without a link to your post

I'm aware this isn't the place to appeal. I sent this because u/TheOpusCroakus offered to look and I wasn't sure if they hadn't received the PM or couldn't say.

  • Are there any plans to let communities opt out of the Poster Eligibility Guide or (more importantly) Post Check? Or will we just have to manually turn it off for every rule.

Hi! I checked with the team in charge of that and the answer is yes! I don't have an exact timeline, but it should be soon-ish. =)

  • We’ve expanded Post Check with several new controls and visibility features for moderators:

Rule-level toggles: Mods can now turn Post Check on or
off for individual rules, giving you more granular control over which
rules are triggered at submission time.

Mod preview: A new preview panel shows you exactly what the Post Check experience looks like for users before you enable it.

Insights log: Mods now have a transparent view into
which posts are being flagged by Post Check, helping teams understand
how rules are being applied and fine-tune their settings.

These changes impact the Rules hub and Post Check surfaces.

Where will these settings be located when rolled out? I have yet to see anything related to Post Check or Poster Eligibility in the mod tools.

EDIT - found the location here https://www.reddit.com/mod/YOURSUBREDDIT/rules select a rule and click edit

  • what is this for ?

    New Changelog announcement.

  • Where is the correct place to report things which arent bugs but just experience breaking design in a way that's most likely to get actioned? (Android, Official app)

The Weekly Recap that is stickied at the top of this sub is a great place for that!

    Thanks!

You're welcome Looking forward to seeing you over there!

  • Hey! This should be fixed!

  • How long does a user have to wait to get a ticket replied? Genuinely asking.

Its been a month without any kind of response. Is there a way for us to actually get in touch with the support?

It's frustrating, been reporting content that breaks the TOS and i'm still waiting for an answer.

I checked some posts to see if I was the only one dealing with this and it seems that the ticket system is not good? And I understand there are probably thousands of tickets daily, but having to wait over a month to get some kind of answer is sad as an user :(

What's the issue that you're having trouble with?

Hey Opus, there is a post that's breaking some the TOS of reddit (Based from what I understood).

I've been reporting it, following up daily and no response. I completely understand that we're all humans and we do our best, but this has been extremely difficult for me.

That post is legit destroying my image and it's all made up. I'm not sure why it's allowed. Can you help me with it? I'd appreciate big time <3

    i sent you a dm

  • The pop up/app advertisement on the mobile website is very frustrating, if i clicked X the first time why keep harassing me to download your app when any page loads

  • Please fix the issue that clicking on the avatar takes your profile rather than letting the user change their profile. If I want to go to my profile, I’ll click on the tab. How many people really look at their profile that often? I almost never need to go to my profile, but I switch profiles often throughout the day.

    I'll tell that team!

  • a profile tab which takes you directly to your profile (the side profile drawer has been removed)

Not at all a fan of this

  • Hello u/TheOpusCroakus

How do the iOS app users who are part of the new Profile UI experiment be able to access “Earn” and “Pending” menus?

These were earlier in the profile slide-out menu but now are no longer available anywhere i could check

Hi! I am not sure, but I will ask around and report back when I have some info!

  • Easier search experience: A more prominent search bar on the main screen that includes a new Ask button for easier access to our AI-powered search experience (i.e. Reddit Answers).

Simpler navigation: Moving Home, News, Reddit Games, and Latest feeds below the search bar and the Popular feed in the menu on the top left of the app.

    Issues on iPad app:

The double-stacked header takes up too much space for no benefit.

Click into a post, return to the main feed, the bottom menu bar is missing.

When you open an individual post, the text and images on the original post go the full width of the window. The text is very difficult to read with far too many words on each line, and the images are so large that they require scrolling.

  • I like the new user interface.

That's awesome! I'm sure the team will love to hear that! Thank you!
