I consider Signature Rat to be a great cosmetic while Diamond Murozond I do not. I’m monetarily supporting that which I want to see more in the game, and ignoring that which I find tasteless, overpriced or poor quality.

All their paid visuals suck ass lmao. I wouldn’t be very surprised if they use AI most of the time. Or russian/chinese outsourcers who are very cheap anyways. Just compare the shit they’re selling for such crazy prices now with early skins like Medivh, you don’t even need to be an artist to see that the difference is night and day.
To be fair the pixel art heroes were AI and they didnt notice and put them in the game files. People immediately noticed when they checked that patch and saw the upcoming hero skins in the collection.
They had to get a blizzard artist OG to cook up new and different ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was just the only time its been caught as it was pretty blatant if you actually looked at it and didn’t just gloss over the pretty art. Im not sure if the original artist who used AI was ever contracted for HS art before

It seems pretty minor, but from the perspective of a professional animator at a corporation, I imagine that this isn't very excusable.
