Hey y’all, so I’m in quite a dilemma.
I recently bought a Romanian PSL (FPK Dragunov) and I have no optics for it. This is one of the rifles built for military use, not civilian market. This is one from the late sixties.
I bought the AK Master Mount (PSL/ SVD Version). The website says:
“Specifically designed to fit the factory PSL or SVD style side rails. Its top Picatinny / ACOG rail is 7 1/2 inches long, and it weighs 8.0 ounces.”
Surprise surprise, the shit doesn’t fit. I suspect maybe this mount is for later models?
Does anyone know where I can actually find the proper mount? Idk I’m pissed. $200 later and I STILL can’t shoot this gun.
In what way does it not fit?
Because I have $5 on user error - didn't adjust the clamp properly.
The bottom lip of the mount will not fit over the bottom part of the side rail.
We determined that the side rail on my rifle is just old.
Oof that sucks man, AK Master Mount stuff can be hit or miss with the older military surplus rifles
Try reaching out to Midwest Industries or RS Regulate - they usually have better QC and might know which specific rail profile your 60s PSL has
