Idk what the op rug is made with. But i used acrylic yarn and just made 4 skeins worth of pompoms of various sizes, plus a little extra. My rug is only about a foot × a foot (varied for whimsy). The plan is to fabric glue a felt backing on it and add a trim (debating between yarn trim or felt). It wont hold up to TONS of damage, but i made it for my friend to put under her work from home desk 🤷♀️
I can see my dog discovering that pompoms can be pulled apart, and going bananas to the point of a dopamine overdose, while pulling every last piece of yarn apart. Gorgeous rug! So impressive work! I would never let my dog anywhere near that treasure!
Same energy with my cat. I’m very selective about the texture of things in my home cause she loves doing biscuits on high pile towels etc. She would absolutely love this rug and if there was a cheap knock off, I’d get it for her as a scratching mat 😊
damn every time i see a comment exactly like this i am made so grateful all over again that i'm able to enjoy the basic freedom of being able to safely have any of the things that i love in my own home :')
Not sure why youre being down voted.... it is true. I dearly miss my girl (dog, not cat in this case) she passed over 6 years ago. But I am so happy I can now have rugs and live in an apartment with carpets and not have to worry about accidents.
Pets are a luxury and insanely huge responsibility, and not everyone can and should own them.
Some one wrote that they want the rug but their pet would massacre it. Your reply was along the lines of "I'm so lucky and my life is so much better than yours because I have no pets. I can get whatever rug I want!" It seems weird.
My tone is jokey, though. I find this weird-funny, not weird-bad or weird-insulting. Just a weird flex.
OH shit thank you for explaining earnestly, it really helps folks on the spectrum at a moment like this lmao. yeah i definitely didn't mean it that snarky way, and wasn't like "proud" of it just appreciating reality, but i can see how it could be taken that way now! i was just speaking candidly and meant no ill will ToT it was really just as i wrote it with no weird undertones intended haha. this insight will help me to be more careful in my future ramblings, thanks again
I have a bunch of pets and I totally understood your intended tone and your meaning.
I am autistic and my adult kids have explained to me that when I say something like “My experience is different than yours and I enjoy it and would not be able to enjoy yours as much” people for some freaking reason decide that I am saying their experience is wrong and mine is better.
I want to wash my feet and walk on it barefoot. I think feeling that between my toes would be fun. I don't do anything barefoot except for bathe so I have baby soft feet.
I want to nap on that rug!!
Seems a shame to put a table on it when I just want to roll around on it
I totally would 💯

I also made a pompom moss rug!
HOW?? I thought they were wool pompoms. Is that it?

Ooooh, I wanna spread my toes into it
How do you attach the pom poms together if you don't mind me asking?
I have been wanting one of these so bad! I’ve never made a rug before though, haha. How hard would you say it is for a beginner at textile art?
That looks hard to clean
Yeah, my kitty would fuck that up so fast and so joyfully

Kitty likes to make art, too!
fur sure! 😽

i am so confused myself - i am sorry for being grateful for my ability to have special furniture??? ToT
Lmao bit of a side note, but I wish I could upvote you again for the gif you added to you previous post 😂
hahahah thanks, i feel seen xD
"Your cat makes your life hell" is such a weird flex.
what? sorry i am genuinely confused by this reply

you get me haha :')
Exactly what I was about to comment lol, I feel like a vacuum would damage it
I hate that this was my first thought. I have officially become my mother.
Colors are marvelous-reminds me of a Monet and also also some Vincent Van Gogh feeling. I think you’ve got a family heirloom. Bravo!!🤩

That's so cool! I'd love to have one, but we occasionally have dogs over and it looks hard to clean.
I love this soooo much!
This gave me chills. So nice.
Created by cats
Omg I thought it was broccoli.
how do you wash this?
I feel like the rug part would need more care, but maybe a damp cloth for the stumps?
This may or may not be the absolute coolest thing I’ve ever seen
I'd need something along the edges to remind me a table is there. I could see myself hitting the edge of that with my shins constantly
Now this is the only use of glass table I'll allow!
I love this
Omg it’s beautiful 🤩
Dust city
Broccoli rug
Oh so wonderful! And the painting is great to. I love how it honors the generations.
I like it!
One of the coolest tripping hazards I've ever seen
So intense and such detail….
🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻
This is honestly gorgeous!
Ill take 6
Forget goblin, an elf made that!
Looks like a Hexplore map!
Excuse me while I go put shelf fungus on all my table legs…
