In America this is a felony..with fines up to 250k and up to 5 years in prison..but even in Australia it's still illegal with a fine up too 50k. So congratulations on recording a crime...
Feeding an eagle... intentionally feeding eagles is illegal in the U.S. under federal laws like the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA) and Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), as it falls under "disturbing" or "molesting" them, potentially leading to fines and jail time, with repeat offenses escalating to felony charges. While first offenses are often misdemeanors, knowingly feeding them or doing so commercially can be charged as a felony, with penalties up to two years in prison and $250,000 for individuals.
feeding eagles (and most native birds) is generally illegal or highly discouraged in Australia, often resulting in hefty fines, especially in national parks, Western Australia, and NT, and while not always a felony, harming protected wildlife carries severe penalties, including possible jail time for serious offenses. Laws vary by state but aim to protect wildlife from behavioral changes, dependency, and disease, so it's best avoided. Western Australia & Northern Territory: Feeding native birds is explicitly illegal, with fines up to $20,000 or $30,000
This is a yearly occurrence for us. Our annual ice fishing trip to northern Wisconsin it’s not uncommon for us to have 5-10 Eagles flying around us. We will throw them a fish every so often to keep them around.
Nice catch ...
Don't worry boys I got you.
