I recently saw a comment on a video saying spaceuk was THE hacker of geometry dash, but I'm not so sure on that take.

What do you think?

  • I think people are understating SpaceUK’s impact here. He didn’t just hack a bunch of levels. He pretty much redefined the skill ceiling of the game, and it happened so rapidly that everyone else was forced to catch up. Without SpaceUK it would have taken a much longer time for Slaughterhouse-difficulty levels to be beaten, and the demon list would look different altogether.

still, this only affects the top players and the demon list. anaban on the other hand even affected casual player's accounts. anaban affected the game itself, which only few can do, on the other hand, spaceuk just used hacks that were already made, which others can do

That’s fair to say, but in terms of real impact, anaban certainly did much more. It’s a different kind of hack, but one that is much more impactful because it exposes the security of the entire system.

... So no Tidal Wave in the alternate universe where SpaceUK didnt hack?

  • Some of yall act like Space killed your grandmas

Space lowkey killed my grandmas though

    Grandma demon

the flawless wings of the nursing home

  • They hacked in different ways, but it’s clearly Anaban.

  • Id actually argue out of both Zimnior12 and Absolute had a bigger impact.

If I had to choose between these 2 though, definitely Anaban

And even if you only compared "playing" hackers, I still think endlevel had a bigger impact than Space did

  • anaban and it’s no competition

    you have 7 chromium polonium?

I know you know it's creator points but it's funny as hell that he had to do that since the other abbreviation would sound suspicious

a quick reminder for ppl who still act like Space was the main villain of the game

yeah, he wasn't that much of a good guy, but he's still not THE worst and not the first one to gain people's trust and get praised for something he didn't actually do legitimately

and as someone has already stated in the comments, yeah, he did have a huge impact on the community in terms of "boosting" the skill ceiling (as people thought he did back then) which made more players inspired(?) and they've actually risen the skill ceiling

I think people think Space is worse in part due to the sheer amount of levels he hacked (a lot of the people on this list only hacked 1 level or a couple levels, while Space hacked hundreds). The best comparison here would probably be Cyclic.

But also due to the time period in which Space hacked. Because he chose to hack in the 2020s rather than 2014-2017, he was able to get a lot more popularity, and be able to take advantage of the Demonlist’s already-existing popularity and the tons of rated extreme demons in order to get a ton of attention. And the community was also far bigger than it was in the past, so more people know about Space and were affected by his actions. As far as I can tell, he’s the only hacker to win Best Player in the GD Awards lmao

And admittedly, Space not creating any significant levels is also a reason why he’s more hated than most hackers. People who hack-verify levels that they created tend to be less hated than people who hack other people’s levels.

  • Anaban no diffs easy

  • anaban broke the servers, spaceuk was a big fraud. both did a big impact. but considering how the game wasnt as popular during the anaban era compared to today, i feel like spaceuk had a bigger impact on the community, atleast on the unemployed part of the community.

anaban affected the entire playerbase, even if today was much popular than when anaban hacked the servers, theres still a massive amount of players who were affected by anaban

    conclusion, i dont fucking know

  • i think anaban is more famous. cause when you get your name banned from being commented it says a LOT about you. anaban is more legendary than spaceuk. and im pretty sure he did more

  • Anaban is vastly overhyped. Pretty much the only lasting impact he had was deleting Spike Spike. Space’s actions were way more influential; I wouldn’t be surprised if we never see someone like him again

  • people really need to know difference between cheating a game and hacking game's servers

  • hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby

    perfect since spaceuk coughs

    I think everyone coughs

  • Holy shit I just noticed spaceuks profile picture is YLIA (absolute peak)

And the fact that he was actually exposed in April makes it funnier

  • What exactly did anaban do? I know that space hacked the top 75 but I’m not sure what anaban did

Show vulnerabilities in the games security. He obviously did more, this is just a example

he hacked like everyone's stats, and he hacked bloodbath, he hacked his stats and a LOT Of peoples profiles and he did a lot more but that's all i can think of

Destroyed a lot of player accounts, deleted a lot of levels and updated bloodbath tò Say thats going tò stop because he was getting bored

  • Anban neg diff

  • for modern gd yeah its spaceuk, but for the sheer magnitude of the hacking its anaban for sure

  • absolute.....

  • Anyone remember diamondonwater

Don’t even remember if they were actually a hacker but they were infamous 9 years ago

  • Spaceuk Is a cheater, anaban ant the team hax are hackers

  • Cyclic honestly. In doing this, he pushed Riot forward and indirectly sped up the difficulty growth. He also made sonic wave.

Idk if we’d count Absolute, but if so, he would be the biggest I’d say.

  • SpaceUK gave everyone interested in top players trust issues so I think this is an easy answer

  • Nobody knows who Anaban is so it has to be Space

  • Space is just Andromeda 2 at the end of the day

  • Player: SpaceUK Non-player: Anaban

Biggest impact for the community: SpaceUK Biggest Impact for the game itself: Anaban

  • 100% spaceUK lol

I can't say too much about early hackers (such as cylic for example) but form what I've heard spaceUK had a much bigger impact then people think he did

Anaban was a much more under the radar one, even compared to space uk.

Spaceuk can be thought of as a bank robber, while Anaban can be thought of as the hacker who stole everyone’s information. In terms of damage, Anaban clearly did more.

In terms of damage yeah. In terms of overall impact spaceUK pushed the community a lot more, not only as a bank robber, he also changed the entire way the demonlist takes records, reshaped the entire picture of the top players by making them try to catch up to him.

Whilst anaban reshaped the game itself, by making robtop take action, spaceUK reshaped the community, which is by far the most important thing in a game like this

  • The only hacker i know is spaceuk cuz i watched a video about it and i used to know more but i forgot all the others

  • the exploit hacking scandal guys ruined every green account + leaked a bunch of levels (leading to stuff like TeamN2 disbanding and Black Blizzard getting leaked)

  • i mean it's gotta be absolute

  • Wow I feel like I have dementia or something who is Anbanhere?

I assume he was a hacker while I wasn’t active with the game, but what did he do?

  • This shouldn't even be a comparison and it frankly annoys me that spaceuk is called a "hacker". Sapceuk is a cheater, simple as. He used pre-existing tools to cheat level completions. Anaban and other hackers actually made significant changes to the game itself. It's like asking who had a bigger impact on GD Youtube between EVW and Pewdiepie. It makes no sense to even compare them.

  • Anaban, if anything lowkey him doing what he did was better for the game because FAR worse could’ve been done with the hacking he did, I do just generally see anything farther back as inherently more impactful

  • Easily space, anaban was just an edgy kid.

All space did was hack levels anaban did way more

  • Obviously spaceuk

  • Definitely spaceuk
