• I wonder what little fella at the end is thinking.. it seems concerned about the geese conversation!

he’s a juvenile night heron! i like to think that he’s either a) angry that he’s being excluded or b) worrying that they’re gossiping about him

I can imagine him saying "don't listen to those silly geese. Look at me, look how pretty I am.." 😂

“stupid geese clearly don’t understand beauty when they see it!”

  • Goose A: “is that the type of bird that looks like this lightly stretches neck and tongue out kinda like a Canada goose Goose B: “yeah they are. But it’s more of a gesture this type elongation. No tongue. Goose A: oh, so like gestures this? Goose B: yeah more like that…. Goose A: cool 😃👍 Goose C: sorry to interrupt, I couldn’t help but overhear, but I think it’s more of a gesture this gesture? Goose B: I think our friend here is just cold. Necks shrink in the cold. Even humans shrink in the cold… Goose C: I guess.. 🤷‍♀️

Heron: *looks at the camera like in The Office with a face saying “instead of guessing, they could just ask me! 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🙄” 😂

  • Omg I'm falling in love with these guys! I wish we had them here.

i believe they’re the descendants of escaped birds from different safari/wildlife places who established small breeding populations (from what i can find online) as they’re native to africa haha. there’s not a huge amount of them but i’ve found some parks around here have little groups of up to 10-ish. but they’re amazing! i hope you get a chance to meet one at some point! i have a super fun video of one of the couples at the park chasing another couple, as they’re apparently super territorial. if i could post videos in comments id attach it here 😭

They just are bursting with personality they'd fit in perfectly over here and I just love the look of them they're so unique. I just think they're so cool I'm so jealous.
