One of oomfs on twitter who I only recently found, started messaging me and it did go very slowly, as I forget to check the new DM tab. So I eventually replied to his message about if I live alone and I said no. He then asked me if I wanted to meet up and I was up for it, because I currently don't have any friends. It seems like he was fine going wherever and then he asked if I could pay £20 for his fuel so he could come. I then replied saying that he's a stranger to me and that he could be a scammer for all I know and that I think it's unreasonable for me to pay for the fuel for someone I don't know. I did also mention that I am on PIP ( a disability benefit in the UK) and that's all the money I have. Is it unreasonable for me to not want to pay for the fuel for someone when you first meet them?

  • That's ridiculous, don't fall for it. Anyone interested in meeting you should be interested enough to find their own transportation to the meeting spot.

  • Absolutely!!! thats a SCANMERS PLAY FIR CASH .VIA APPS

  • Do not give anyone money, ESPECIALLY if you don’t have the means. No dick is worth emptying your wallet

  • Happens regularly. Never give them money. I've had a few guys say, "I just need money for gas to get there." I remind them that they probably need $3 worth of gas to get to me and then maybe another $3 worth of gas to get home. I happily offer them $6 in cash, paid once they arrive. That usually ends the conversation. They want more than $6 and definitely don't want cash. Lol

  • I just reply “Sorry, I don’t fuck broke guys.”

The funny thing is that I am likely the more broke person 😅

Well then you definitely need to start fucking men with money

  • Scammers ask for money. No further analysis is needed.

But, if you must, £20 for fuel? Where is he driving from? Paris?

  • If anyone is asking you to give them money for whatever reason before meeting up it's 100% a scam.

Saying they need money for gas, or that they are currently babysitting and can you send some money so they can buy them a game or something to occupy their time when we are hooking up are probably the two oldest and most common ones.

Also if you fall for the second one I feel like you probably deserve it, as that's just such a what the fuck statement that they gave you

  • Maybe you can give them a little cash after as a nice gesture but you don’t give them anything up front. Probably a scammer tbh

  • No… simple answer.

  • I don't cruise apps anymore, however when I did as soon as money was brought into things I moved on quickly.

You're wasting your time and money, but mostly you'll never find a friend when money is involved. You'll either get taken advantage of or even if it ends up being a hookup, it'll be money money every single time.

  • He’s a scammer, I have one of those that won’t pay me back and is always asking for money. I can’t get rid of him for shit! Block him

  • If they can't afford gas for a hookup then they shouldn't be driving for a hookup.

  • Let me guess... you already fell in love with the dude. Who the hell would still have doubts about this situation here¿ Really?

No, I haven't. I don't know him at all He really is a stranger to me.

Well good. Life is hard as it is. Do not pay any attention to losers who ask you for money so they can come to meet you. Huge red flag and most likely a scam.

  • Can’t get passed One of one of my followers

  • I don’t have this exact issue, but what I have encountered is when I will be chatting with someone on a social app, and for context, I generally live in a place with very limited or no public transit options, and I’ll be chatting with people that do not have cars, and just uber everywhere (in the suburbs so distances are generally longer and more expensive)

and it really makes for a lousy dynamic where the easiest and simplest options would involve me going to them or I have to pick them up for us to go do something, and it’s not nearly as easy for us to just meet somewhere in public,

    I really hate it

  • Oh honey this is a scam as old as the internet... I am 47. I remember this all the way back in 1998. People would do it on web TV

  • I will put gas in your car if you come to my house. That way, I pay 50% of the cost. I do not mind sharing, but I am not rich.

  • Um if they want to meet or they want dick they can pay for their own gas. Call it the dick tax.

  • Eddy V ?? I s that You???

    Do I know you?

ya You know me .. Eddy..

Is this a joke because we both have land in our name?
