Some context would be helpful for those of us who don't know what the heck a ballroom game even is?

I had to google it. Google is all LLM trash now, and I couldn't figure it out, so I had to read the reddit comments in the linked thread.

There's a Thanksgiving week tournament every year that's held in a casino ballroom. It's tiny, there's barely any room for fans. So it's very quiet in there relative to other games. It's sorta like watching high school basketball.

    Here's a game from last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNUDDL_QlSQ

It's a game played on a court set up in a hotel ballroom.

The first comment is pretty obviously tongue in cheek. Essentially all sports subreddits use the same joke format: "if you don't like thing everyone agrees is annoying, then you don't love this sport/team"

What I love is not being a nuisance to other hotel guests.

You do know the op is referencing Grant Napier’s “If you don’t like that you don’t like nba basketball” right?

    I did not.
