Hi all, I’m trying to find a new good chair for gaming for my bf as he’s currently using a dining chair which I know is not very comfortable especially if you play for more than an hour, so I’m trying to find him smt better. The issue is I know NOTHING abt good gaming chairs and I see a lot of posts saying regular office chairs are better. Do you guys have any recommendations for what I should get him? Whether it’s a gaming or office chair. I’m 19 so I don’t want to go too crazy as well price wise.

  • Try staples!

  • I just got a GTracing gaming chair, in the time I’ve had it it’s been a game changer. It was about $126 including taxes and shipping. I think they’re pretty good starter gaming chairs also really comfy. Only downside is that the arm rests tend to get loose after a bit but you just need to re tighten them. I’m sure someone else can point you towards something cheaper and better but coming from a wooden chair from my kitchen this chair is amazing.

i have a $700 secret lab chair, and still think my gt racing chair is better. can confirm this comment is legit

How are the seat cushions between the two chairs? Is the secret lab chair too firm?

too firm yeah. lacks lumbar support too it’s pretty squared off

build quality is there though. it looks and feels nice. just not super comfortable for long gaming sessions, i have the titan size large

Can you send the link to the chair

  • I spent the money on a secret lab chair and its comfortable.

  • Do not buy a dowinx, shit is ass.

+1 Threw that shit out after a week, like sitting on creaky cardboard

  • i just got the blacklyte athena pro and im thoroughly impressd tbh. before that i had a kjock off gt racer from amazon which was complete shit tbh espdcially compared to my new chair. its honestly a game changer when it comes to quality and comfortability

I have the Athena x which is similar but cheaper, main difference is it doesn’t have the adjustable lumbar support.

  • The only office chairs I see people recommend on here are all crazy expensive so I’d do like the other commenter said — go to staples to try out the chairs and see which one is the most comfortable

  • Flexispot BS14

  • Just got the Autofull Ultra 2.0 for$569. Sat in it all day (12 hours) at work. No regrets. I work in construction PM and need something that can handle12 hours of sitting . This flips the bill. My office is the furthest from the HVAC in my work trailer so the heat and cooling is a must since in Austin the temperature changes like my wife’s mood.

  • Ergonomic chairs are better and more comfortable The sihoo m57 chair is a good start

  • Yes regular office chairs works too, nothing wrong with them. An example would be the TRALT Office Chair, best seller. Supports up to 330 lbs and 6.2 feet. Good back, neck shoulder support. No fancy racing stripes or lighting just purely functional. My favorite is the GTRacing. Has everything you need. Padding, breathability, lumbar support, foot rest. Works for anyone. Gamers, workers casual use alike.

  • Check out chairs with good lumbar support and adjustable features. Secretlab and Herman miller are good brands, but they can be expensive... If you're trying to save some cash, look at mid-range office chairs with ergonomic stuff. You can find some helpful options on ergonomicchairfinder based on reviews and prices.

  • Coming from a dining chair, anything with lumbar support is gonna feel like night and day.

Also, not entirely sure about the GTRacing chairs. There were comments about people ordering from them and issues with chair durability.

A lot of budget gaming chairs trade actual comfort for the racing seat look. If you can push closer to $200 to $300, an ergonomic mesh office chair tends to outlast cheaper gaming chairs and keeps you cooler during long sessions. The Desky High Back Mesh Chair has a headrest and recline, and it’s one of the more common features you see on standard ergonomic chairs.

Either way though, he’s gonna be way happier than using that dining chair setup.

  • I went to a used office chair place and got a Steelcase office chair for under $200. It's amazingly comfortable for long gaming sessions and looks great too.

  • I have the SecretLab TitanEvo Nanogen. It’s very comfy.

Though if you don’t like firm (but not hard) chairs, might not be for you. It’s also quite pricey.

  • Corsair TC100 is a good option comfy, armrests stay out of the way, and long sessions don’t hurt. This one works well, also i found a thread with a bunch of other good options too.

  • After trying several gaming chairs over the years, I switched to this ergonomic chair. It's much more comfortable and flexible, and easy on the back. I'm very happy with it.
