What’s a good gaming chair that’s comfortable or anything other that a person would like as a Christmas gift?

  • The best gamer chair is not a gamer chair, it is an ergonomic office chair. Gamer chairs are pretty much scams that rip off the uninformed because they’ll buy a chair that looks cool. Gamer chairs are modeled after race car seats, which are designed to keep you safe in a car crash. Ergonomic office chairs are designed for extended hours of sitting in front of a computer.

The best office chairs are Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, etc. They can go for thousands of dollars new, but you can get them used or refurbished for a couple hundred bucks. Your best bet is keeping an eye on Craigslist and FB Marketplace for a good deal. Or you can check out Crandall Furniture’s website for refurbished options.

Exactly what he just said , my son had an expensive gaming chair and it was awful and hurt his back . We got him a really good office chair and it's been fantastic

This, always had office chairs then decided to get a secretlab, big mistake. That chair is harder than a rock, gf loves it though

I disagree. I had an office chair and it was good but I got Andra gaming chair and it's so much better. The chair is not as long or wide so I find my back actually sits against the lumbar support and my neck on the pillow. I find it's more supportive and comfier as well as I can do longer sessions on it without feeling I need to get up.

There are some good gaming chairs out there, but they're def few and far between. I personally use a Corsair TC100, and it's been great for the couple years I've had it. Armrests wore out (the foam started to chunk off), I sent one email to Corsair's customer support, trying to find out where I could BUY replacement armrests, and they sent me a new set for free. Their customer support is awesome.

Came here to say this haha. I work in office furniture and over the years have just seen soo many folks end up in situations where the straight backrest design of a gaming chair will just excessively push their shoulders forward. The flat backrest combined with a large lumbar pillow can cause excessive lower back arching and makes their posture worse over time.

Some great recs above! But imo you really don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to get a quality ergonomic chair. I’m definitely a little biased haha but Branch has some awesome options that will keep you under that budget! Just my two cents :D

  • What's your budget? How tall is the person it's meant for?

Not completely sure on budget but this person is 6’2

  • embody gaming chair

    Agreed on this.

I had the dxracer chair to steelseris leap and now an embody. It blew the other chairs out of the water

I feel the lumbar support compared to the other two chairs and my back lower back doesn’t ache anymore

  • Leap v2 I guess

  • Corsair TC100. One of the few "gaming" chairs I've found that is actually just a good chair.

  • Secret lab hands down

  • I won't go with gaming chairs. I know a lot of people who blew $1k and both weren't good and even eventually smelled really bad. Lumbar support is just a lot different in ergonomic chairs compared to gaming chairs.

You want a real office chair. You can get a Desky Pinnacle instead (runs about $500 new) with adjustable lumbar and an Italian tilt mechanism.

For used, Herman Miller (Aeron, Embody) or Steelcase (Leap V2, Gesture). Buy used off Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, around $200 to $400 from office liquidations.

  • After trying several gaming chairs over the years, I switched to the Gabrylley ergonomic chair. It's much more comfortable and flexible, and you don't have the issue of the seat flattening in a few months.
