• My first time seeing video game tiddies was the og GOW. Thank you Kratos.

My mom wouldn't let me play GTA or watch Dragonball Z but she bought me this and saw me have sex with and brutally murder tons of women.

Far worse than any GTA content ever lol.

I had that EXACT experience. I got to play GOW because my mom said "it teaches you greek mythology". Her words, not mine. I didn't even ask for the game. Which I guess is true to an extent.....

Yep lol, EXACTLY what she said.

I am Greek so she thought it'd be informative about Ares in mythology.

    It. Was. Not.

I mean, I guess a little? There's some mythology there but that's not really the focus lol.

You get to murder/lay mythological things though :D

Isn't that just Greek mythology though? Fight it or fuck it be it a duck or a bush.

"Fight it or fuck it" is a banger quote and I'm stealing it for a dnd character

    So a Bardbarian?

I've played both Hades games, so I can confirm. Yes. That is accurate.

As someone who took AP myths and legends focusing on greek mythology and more stuff in college... this guy playing Hades definitely knows more than me. Listen to the man.

    Amazing games.

Did you mean to say "s/lay"?

I didn't think of that but that is good :p

I learned a lot of the names through GoW, then would actually go search some of them up to learn their true mythology. So, I guess it did end up teaching me something.

Greek mythology is full of fucking, sometimes not even between people in human form! Like that mysteriously golden rain? It’ll get you pregnant.

Also watch your wife around waterfowl.

She walked in to gamestop, and said to the guy "I want my son to learn something useful while playing games."

Pimple Pete, the 19 year old at the counter smirks, and did you a solid. "Sure, this has history, greek mythology, and some really educational sections on human biology"

Even then, the myths are basically bastardized to hell and back so it's actual value of teaching greek myths can be a little questionable. Same with the norse saga entries and it's gods.

It's like learning Renaissance art watching TMNT

Hades does a far better job in referencing Greek myth content.

My mom watched me run over people in a firetruck in GTA3 while listening to the Lemon Garden.

We both laughed about how stupid the animations were and how goofy the lack of blood made it.

To this day I've not done anything in GTA except fly through areas with the car cheat while listening to bangers on the radio. Games are what you make them.

My dad allowed us to play GTA Vice City until one day he saw me running around a mall decapitating cops with a katana and took the game away from us. My Lil bro and I were 8 and 10 lol

My mom got concerned when I told her you could drive on the sidewalk in Midtown Madness, and people would jump out of the way

Oh yes, because that's totally going to give a child the urge to steal a car and go for a joyride over sidewalks and run over people. Parent logic.

Wait, why weren't you allowed to watch dbz? Gta makes sense since its primary themes are crime, drugs, and violence, but dbz is very kid friendly.

And while gow has sex and violence, I think mythological-style sex and violence of a weird demigod using imaginary chain weapons is a lot less... Traumatic, corruptive, and graphic than shooting hookers with gunsor running down pedestrians while you run from the cops in a stolen car you hijacked.

Yeah she hadn't really researched her bans lol. I watched dbz all the time, it was totally fine. I think it's because there was blood?

Also I definitely do not agree with your take on gow as compared to GTA. I'm an adult now and that original trilogy was fucked up lol.

It was good of course, but it was rough.

It was rough when you interpret it as an adult, but when I played it as a kid I definitely missed 3/4 of the darker adult themes and story implications. It was much more "cool hardcore demigod guy swinging weapons around and being a badass" than it was "broken man fighting against the literal gods because of the corruption of his soul and loss of his family"

Are you just using those words dramatically or do you actually think the gta games were traumatic, corrupting, and graphic?

Same here. It's probably my first time seeing them as a kid too.

I masturbated to shiva in final fantasy 7

Are you posting from guantanamo bay?

lul wut? no, but I'm interested, tell me more about what you're thinking. What lead to that sentence?

I assumed someone waterboarded that secret from you

Heyooo, it was the Penny's magazine for me. When you were young before the Internet you made do.

That he jerked off to something a little weird when he was a kid? You gotta raise your threshold for what you think people need to be waterboarded to spill.

Yep, this stuff is pretty mild

I admit, while playing Baldur's Gate 3, I changed the main storyline to trying to fuck each one of my companions.

Duke nukem for me. Admittedly less exciting I guess

    good ol 90's pixilated tiddies

i can't imagine anything being being earlier than that

    Custers Revenge on the Atari

leisure suit larry maybe, cant recall. i got stuck getting across some ravine or something.

The sounds are the worst part lol

And it’s not even the craziest joke in the level somehow

I love how you said "in the level" and not "in the game" because yeah, shit does get really insane.

I was downloading hentai games in the 90's.

Yes I did infect the family computer with some viruses. How did you know?

I learned Japanese AND became a card shark thanks to Ace of Spades

    bro is an og gooner

"Oh, you think gooning is your ally? You merely adopted the goon. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see HD porn until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

These younglings have it good. we old timers had to make do with Lara Croft’s polygon boobies XD

and then you try the nude code in Tomb Raider 2.

    For science, of course.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto reporting in. Thank you, Delphi.

My first time ever seeing tiddies was in Dead Or Alive.

  • Who needs Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition when you have a Playstation

Damn when I was 10 I had the Gow psp and the sports illustrated swimsuit pics all over my walls for a hot minute lol, at least for a year.

My mom would have murdered me lol

lol I kept my door shut mostly I don’t even remember why I did it, guess they were hot. Also had a hooters calendar cuz my step dad took me for my bday.

We weren't allowed to have doors closed when I was a kid.

I remember my parents took the door off my room

Yeah I got grounded from having a door because I slammed it at my mom. I had to write an essay about why that's not polite in order to get it back lmao

Knowing me, I'd just not have a door. Thank fuck my parents didn't resort to that. They just took the Gamecube away which was just as bad.

My mom didn't take my game systems away. She just took the controllers. Imo that was worse because I could turn them on but I couldn't interact with them lol

She did ground me from reading anything not "school-related" once and I read the dictionary out of spite.

    That's crazy lol.

Rough my door was always closed when I was playing black ops 1 and mw2 talking to my friends lol, would play music on the radio quite loud and they were okay with it.

I really can't imagine doing that to someone after a certain age. I understand not giving keys, but not closing them at all? Weird.

It’s crazy what different lives we all lived. I wouldn’t have been allowed to have posters of even a fully clothed model on my walls let alone swimsuit even when I was 18, lol.

10??! Fucking crazy. I bet you had nunchucks too.

Nah that would have been cool, I had those moon shoes tho that were like trampoline feet.

i had an xbox and had Dead or Alive Xtreme Breasts Volleyball as a pubescent kid with no internet.

    it was formative.

I remember the Game Informer issue article it was featured in. I remembered it a lot.

That game was wildddd when I was young.

    "The best place to play"

  • I let a classmate borrow my psp during lunch to play GoW Ghost of Sparta and he spent half an hour just replaying the Sparta brothel segment

    Learning in progress...

It didn't come back sticky, did it?

No, but he wouldn't walk up to the front of the class either

  • In the first game, it was actually really useful too. Not only for rewards but also teaching you about stick based quicktime events, just before you meet the gorgon (which requires you to use those QuickTime events to kill her)

    ”Stick” based…

Kratos quick time still lasts longer than me 🥲

Cover yourself in the ashes of your dead wife and child, it’ll dull the senses a bit

Is Kratos' dick canonically coated in ashes or just what we can see? What was he wearing when the ashes hit? Did they go through his clothes? How thick of a film did the ashes produce? Is it a uniform distribution?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

He was wearing his usual skirt(I know there's a better word for it, but not sure what it is) at the time. However, we do not know if he was wearing anything UNDER, said skirt. As a betting man I would assume he was not

How thick of a film did the ashes produce?

So you're saying his dick became thicker thanks to murdering his family?

I wish i didnt read this....

I tried that the lube rubbed it away and now I'm wanted by the police...

I also hit that so I could train myself for the Gorgon

    ⬅️⬅️➡️➡️⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️🅰️🅱️🍆

  • Yes, Kratos. ⭕

Johnny Sins: employing various techniques and positions to satisfy his partner.

    Kratos: ⭕️⬆️⬆️↩️↪️↩️⤵️🔄🔄🔄

Come to think of it, I've never seen the two of them in the same place at the same time. Ol' Mister Sins has worked every job ever, what's to say he hasn't also been the God of War?

    Coincidence? I think not

  • I'm guilty of playing that more than a few times as a kid, lol

At least in Ghost Of Sparta, you will get an item if you screw 'em n number of times. On the other games however, I used to screw them 100s of times to get nothing in return other than the red orbs lol.

You got red orbs, I got blue balls.

The number of orbs decrease as you trigger the event a couple of times in the first game. In the second it doesn't matter as you will lose all your power anyway after killing the colossus. I think the third game just gives you a trophy

Really? Played that game like 20 times and never knew that.

But did you screw ‘em 20 times though?

  • I will argue these scenes are important to the plot of understanding Kratos's character. I'm being serious.

He's literally banging two girls at the same time, and afterwards, he's just as angry and violent as before. You'd think if ANYTHING would make a guy chill the fuck out for a second, it would be that. The opening cinema in the second game literally spells this out.

But Kratos doesn't know how to be happy even for a moment. Even sex with hot women is just like eating or sleeping to him. He doesn't get any joy out of it. It's just simply something he does because his body requires it while he waits for the next opportunity to tear something apart. His violence, which was the cause of his curse, is now the only way he can express himself.

It's literally spelled out for the player in the opening monologue of the first game.

"For no matter how much wine he consumed, or how many women he took to his bed...nothing on Earth could rid him of the horrors that plagued his mind."

Makes you really think about how he is in the Norse games, even there where he is at peace, relatively speaking, he is likely still feeling the guilt of his past sins and the horrors that accompany them.

I got a bit of a chuckle at the scene at the end of GoW 2018, where Kratos and Atreus finally make it and he takes those bandages off of his arms and lets them float away, and it's a really beautiful moment for him as he's letting some weight off of his shoulders and all that-

And then Atreus is just like "Can we go now?" Like damn, if that doesn't describe every road trip with a child ever.

Man GOW 2018 is like the peak analogy gamer maturity in to parenthood/fatherhood. Think about all those things you think are "important" but to children with out that history it's just a thing.

I interpreted that scene a lot differently. To me, it was the truth that we build up a lot of issues in our head to be bigger than they are. To him, it's this massive moment of letting go. This huge burden on his shoulders that HE has carried and Atreus is just like "Oh yeah, cool sweet. Anyway can get to the top of the mountain now?"

The burden was only in his mind and all he had to do was let go and accept. I think a lot of us could benefit from that, myself included.

Then during Valhalla, he's still grappling with the possibility of ever being in a position of authority again, because he's afraid that he might slip back into his old ways.

Likely? Lol, is this something people don't typically get?

His guilt over his past is spelled out pretty explicitly.

This kratos fella sounds a lot like me to be honest. I don't have the muscles through. Or the women.

I'm JUST like Kratos except the horrors plaguing my mind is my post-nut clarity. And instead of the dead wife and kid it's my the last video on my Phub watch history.

  • I remember playing this game when I was 13, and my dad walked into the room during this scene. He still brings it up to this day…

Please tell the story, including the dialogue between yourself and your father.

  • Knew a buddy that had save points designated specifically to these moments🤣

  • I miss the sense of scale in those games. They’d often pull back the camera and show how tiny you were in the game world. I miss that. The soft reboot could have done it so many times, but chose to keep the camera close instead.

It made the camera close just so you could fit in Kratos journey, as a "live the character" situation. It did made the family drama and bond more effective for those who get that kind of thing. By doing that however they kinda pummeled the scale as you say, so they had to make the spectacle look like Marvel fights.

yeah the reboot series isn’t bad by any means but i would love a gow game styled after the first 3

This is a fair point and made the old games feel so damn epic.

You'd think they would try for the Midgard serpent or something...seeing it move in the far distance before it came to you.

But it's not just these games. Even Hollywood has lost the ability to do stuff like this. This type of approach was present in a Lord of the Rings but suddenly got lost in the 2010s.

It's like they took away long establishing shots and movement within said shots. You lose the sense of epic scale when that occurs

  • Wonder if Kratos ever told Atreus about this

  • and the gore was better

Agreed. They really toned down the gore in 2018 and ragnorok. Such a shame.

  • I'll never forget I started playing this and I had no idea about this scene. My mum was home and not once came into our gaming room, but the absolute second some tiddies came up on the screen she entered the room. To this day I still haven't finished that game.

  • It was nice that games were sometimes made for adults and publishers would allow the game to get a M rating. Now everything is made for the widest possible audience and the entire industry has suffered as a result.

It will always be insane to me how in a game with such massive amounts of gore and violence, people will view the 'adult' part as them having sex.

If extreme violence was ever truly looked upon as a terrible thing, it would be harder to get people to go into the military.

It IS a very "American" view, I'll admit. But it's how the rating system works. You'll notice though that in newer games more targeted at T ratings, that the gore and violence shown on screen is toned down, and more implied instead.

This is how my parents thought. Any sex or swearing was a no go, but watching people get torn to pieces was perfectly fine

See this is actually insane to me. I guess it's just cultural differences but naked bodies, swearing, and even sex is just normal things. Sure they shouldn't be in excess but it's just part of life.

Naked bodies are natural, sex is just part of life. Gruesome murder and gore doesn't have to be though.

The swearing thing makes the least sense to me. Like, if I sit here and say "fuck" in my head, how is it any different from me hearing someone say it? It's not like I didn't know what they were saying in bleeped songs and such. It's all so nonsensical.

It's less common but not always true, baldurs gate 3 was one of the most popular and acclaimed games in a long time and you can run around with your dick swinging if you want, CD project red with the Witcher and Cyberpunk definitely don't shy away from it

Dick and titties flopping at the same time if you're so inclined.

last I played there are no titty physics in bg3

Everyone also has the exact same boobies =( literally unplayable.

Wait, you can pick your dick size and shape, but not your tits size and shape in the game?? WTF is this discrimination???

You listed 3 games made by non-american studios. Definitely not a coincidence that they're less afraid of showing nudity.

    Cyberpunk was a scam

Select your genitals in the character screen but can't see them in game??

    Wtf scam

GoW has been targeting the same generation for its entire series. When the first ones came out they were edgy and violent, and had sexually explicit scenes like this. Those games were targeted towards highschool and college kids.

Then they rebooted the series and Kratos had become a father, and the character development centered around how he has had to adapt to being a parent. This was right around the same time the original audience had started having children.

Might've been the case for the developers as well. They started as mid 20's bachelors making games they wanted to play. Then they grew up and put their life lessons into the sequels.

The type of sex stuff in GoW wasn't meant to appeal to adults, but horny teenage boys.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The enforcement of game ratings is minimal to non-existent, so there's not really a need to make an M-Rated game T to boost sales. M-rated series like Call of Duty and Dark Souls dominate the market.

Let’s face it, these weren’t made for adults. They were made for 12 year old boys.

This cringy sex stuff was/is 100% for teenagers who wanted to feel like they were playing a “mature” game lol

Baldurs Gate 3? Norse God of War? Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei?

How recent are you thinking? Majority of GOTY since 2014 have been M rated games.

Ironically the games "made for adults" were actually just made for teens. The newer God of War games with less sex and less gratuitous rage violence were the ones ACTUALLY made for adults. Adults are more than just uncontrolled sex hormones, we have families and think about our legacies and the changes that happen in the world around us.

  • Sex QuickTime event

  • Finally a post on r/gaming I can relate to lol. GOW is one of the best gaming series ever....oh yea tiddies!!

I'm honestly surprised to see this here. I'd expect it to be getting downvoted into oblivion.

  • I'm probably in the minority here but I do not enjoy the new combat compared to the old. The new combat is slow.

I believe Kratos now experiences a searing pain in his knees whenever he engages in anything beyond a moderate jog or a brief burst of speed.

The old games felt a lot more punishing too. I replayed GOW 1 recently on the second hardest (Spartan) difficulty and was getting my shit pushed in. I remember beating this game on God difficulty (the hardest) as a literal child, and I’m thinking today “how the hell did I do that???”

  • Just recently snagged psp copies of the spinoffs, I'm pretty excited to check em out. Don't think they included the sex scenes in those games though lol

Edit: Nevermind I checked and they're in those games too haha

  • Back when studios knew who their audience was

  • That’s his cousin…just saying

    everyone was his family

  • Ancient greeks were horny🤷 even during tragedy

    Especially during tragedy.

  • When we used to have nice things.

  • Unashamed M rated games with cool stylization, awesome combat, and good game design, yeah they hit different.

Playing an m rated game that had nudity in it was pretty neat too.

    Shame we lost all that.

Welcome to the age of fake corporate "niceties" where fake smiles hide venomous personalities and everyone has to approve of everyone else's business to avoid being offensive. I swear society has been neutered.

  • Bangs Aphrodite...then pops thru the portal to see her cuck hubby 🤣

  • That's because they were actually good

  • The original God of War games were the bees knees.

  • I had an extra savegame for this mission as a teenager. Such great replayability!

  • I wish they would add these to steam!

  • video game smut got too realistic it just doesn't hit the same

  • The Eye of Sauron always watches unblinking.

  • What are you doing step bro

  • Well, I repeated that scene a lot of times like a real gentleman.

  • Back when monster heads weren't the only thing kratos would smash.

  • To this day I genuinely do not like how the new GoW games play. Say what you will about how it is story wise, but the gameplay felt like it is just trying to capitalize on a ton of modern trends of games at the time. Over the shoulder 3rd person camera made it just feel like most of what Sony was putting out at the time, and I don't even understand why we needed to put in gear rarities in the game other than it being the hip thing to do. Then the gameplay itself just felt lame in my opinion. I don't care how "weighty" the leviathan axe feels when enemies often times felt like damage sponges (which btw I hate this trend of putting healthbars and damage numbers on everything nowadays).

They aren't BAD games, but it feels like they decided to market to a more wide audience in terms of everything, and in that process I was lost from it.

To be fair, old GOW games tried to capitalize on the hack n slash craze of the 2000s too.

  • To say it in the name of joseph anderson: "Remember when kratos bound a naked women to a lever just to open a door"

Tbh i didnt even remember the first 3 games when i played gow2018 but later after reviewing the trilogy the change in tone was definitely funny

lol that was pretty much the only thing I remember from the third game. Lead the woman out, raise the gate, then throw the woman at the base of the wheel so that the spokes hit her and pin her to the ground, which keeps the gate up lol

  • Prefer the newer GoW by far but more mature games need to stop ignoring the existence of sex in general.

for real, i mean ragnorok just needed a section where kratos plows faye.

i mean where they really go at it. i mean where he just destroys her. really gives it to her. shakes the whole mountain. just rail her. just really give it to her. get the cops called on them. odin should at one point be at home and just go "jesus, the hell is that?" i mean just a deep screw. a real pelvis crushing time.

and 9 months later atreus is born.

and then kratos just plows her!

  • I don't even think you could put this in a game today without people whining

  • I loved the easter egg where at random chance the other two women watching say "This defiantly for mature audiences only" "parents should not let their children watch this"

    Defiantly or definitely?

God damnit I keep making that mistake

    Live and learn friend!

  • Loved this game! Afraid of what they'd do if they remade it.

Right, because sex in video games is totally verboten nowadays.

  • The old ones are so much better. Don’t care if I’m in the minority, but ragnarok just emphasizes this opinion to me. It’s so mundane and full of existential filler and redundant combat/missions. The OGs are pure rage incarnate which exemplifies what Kratos was supposed to be. GOW3 is still incredible.

  • Kratos seeing his children gonna hurt a lot.

  • I dont remember that gears of War game

  • the crazy thing about this was that her man was in the next room hearing everything

  • That's the Jaffe effect.

  • The handle on the end of the ponytail is definitely not subtle

  • I don't remember this scene from Gears of War.

  • I knew what this was going to be even before I clicked lol

  • I didn't play GoW until I was in my early 20s. That mini game was the funniest shit to me.

  • they dont make games like they used to. i remember getting bricked playing GOW 1 and I looked forward to that boat ride every playthrough

  • Oh man I think the first video game boobies I saw that were actual kinda boobie looking was duke nukem. I remember playing a version of leisure suit larry on my uncle's mac/pc in the late 80's early 90's but I don't think those count as videogame boobies in my mind.

  • I don't remember seeing this in Gears.

  • I see gow.. and i think gears of war.. sorry not sorry

  • Kratos grew up to being a good father now. He retired from being a murderous god killer and hitting the "O"

  • The △△△ combo is still satisfying as all hell.

  • Bro is real pro Gamer

  • wait, I'm just now noticing the thong.

    is that historically accurate?
