The War of the Roses is an amazing piece of modern History, and it heavily inspired the War of the Five Kings; and also the following Tudor history resembles the Dance of the Dragons.

I think everything south of the neck is inspired by flipping Ireland upside down, making it a bit bigger, and attaching it to the south side of England. Like white harbor would be where London is.
Yeah, just realized its kind of mirrored. I sent it to my brother who is watching the series for the 1st time, and he believed it was the same map of England before the glaciars melting.
I usually assume Dorne to be near the Equator.. The Wall at the 60th Latitude and land of always winter towards the North Pole
I have always thought of Westeros covering almost the entire globe, from North to South. But now that I think about the walking or riding times, I believe that it could easily be just the UK size.
Sothoryos goes below the equator into southern hemisphere
Or both, it could just be a much smaller planet no?
I think it it was that small they would have already arrived to Essos the other way, sailing towards the West.
Fair point
Ofc the Scotts are coming souths to kill us all
It's pretty much Britain with Ireland expanded, turned upside down and flipped stuck onto the south
And warm, Ireland would be warm, don't forget that.
Great depiction of the century
It’s Great Britain with an upside down Ireland stuck to the bottom. With some other tweaks, and most of Dorne being added.
