Would Stanis and Daenerys have fought over it, because I highly doubt Robb would've bend the Knee for either of them

  • He answers this in the show. He goes home and rules the independent north.

Daenerys never accepted an independent North. Nor did Stannis. After the Great War, it would’ve been war between Stannis, Daenerys and Robb. Dany would have won but maybe wouldnt have Jon there to stop her.

Rob would bend the knee if there were dragons like his ancestors did. Once white walkers come knocking he'll need Daenerys anyways.

You’re right to be fair, Robb would have likely taken the same route Jon did.

    (Edit)

Actually I’ve reconsidered, I think Robb would’ve held that the North be an independent kingdom just like Sansa did, which would’ve meant war with Daenerys.

  • No I don’t think he would. I think Stannis, Renly and Daenerys would still be fighting for the throne.

Renly would have been about a year dead but otherwise agree

yeah but you get it lol

    For sure for sure

So Stannis loses blackwater bay, Rob takes kingslanding to kill the Lannisters then hands it over to Stannis in exchange for an independent North? Because I don't think Daenerys would accept an independent North. Once she arrives she would undoubtedly defeat Stannis her next target would have been Rob in the North....

Maybe. I mean personally I don’t think he’d bother with the throne. Maybe he’d make a deal with Stannis or whoever but i think he’d go back and keep the north independent like he said in the show. Even if Daenerys would’ve gone back to take the north I think they’d deal with those issues at another time lol

Yeah Stannis is the only real choice, I think he would go for it, especially after being defeated at the Blackwater he wouldn't have much hope of recapturing the throne anytime soon...

“If you think this has a happy ending.. you haven’t been paying attention.”

  • He was fighting for the North's independence, not to rule the 7 kingdoms. If he won his part, he would have left the rest fight it out on their own.

Unless the Riverlands gets attacked again. Remember, he took them into his kingdom.

  • It depends on how the war continued to evolve, but in any conflict, winning the war and winning the peace are sometimes two entirely different things.

For instance, if the Red Wedding was stalled or avoided, what would have happened if Robb linked up with Renly, or more likely Stanley? He might have entered a truce with the understanding that the coordination against the Lannisters came with the price of getting Stannis on the throne.

So it'd be unlikely that Robb himself would sit the throne, but it'd take a pretty extraordinary series of events, since he's not in line, doesn't want it, and others want it more. The great thing about GRRM, is that in his worlds the unexpected could happen, but I wouldn't count on it.

  • Nope, he rules the North as an independent kingdom.

The remaining 6 kingdoms? Well i think they would all eventually peel off and regain independence. Dorn would probably be the 2nd to go (after The North), as they already are pretty independent.

The North and the Riverlands probably form a strong alliance given the family history. So the Riverlands might break free fairly quickly and take a good chunk of the Westerlands (Lanisters bring largly defeated).

The Reach is a bit of a wildcard. Do they want to be independent? They would be a grest political power in whst remins of the united kingdoms. Im sure they'll grab up a bunch of former Lanister land too. Redrawing those borders will be bloody, and thsts a reason i think the Reach will stay loyal to the Iron Throne. They will use that combined army to add to their lands.

The Vale? They will stsy loyal but also largly out of the wars. Probably woth a soft agreement with the River Lords that no invasion will happen while they are fighting in the west... but depending on who's really ruling the Vale that agreement will probably be broken.

The RL would leave with the North, Robb was also named king of the trident. With the Baratheons and Lannisters pretty much gone and Dorne and the Iron islands declaring their independence the Tyrells might just take the throne for themselves installing Willas as King.

True, the Riverlands would know long before Dorn (Many of their lords would be right there), so have a headstart on jumping ship. I just feel like Dorn has always just been holding on my a thread and will leave at the soonest convenience.

  • No... His whole war was for Northern Independence, he may keep the Riverlands as protectorate but that's about it. Hell he probably could have won if he'd just delayed attending the Red Wedding by a few weeks and let the Purple Wedding and its outcome run its course. The Boltons and Freys seeing the Lannisters in a weakened state would quietly switch back over to Robb's camp.

The South would fall back into a group of warring states. Dorne and the Vale are already semi independent and have little to no loyalty to the throne. Cerci would continue to break apart the Lannister Tyrell alliance. And Stannis will still probably go to the north but now face a united hostile nation, so it's really anyone guess what happens to him as Northerns do respect honor and what not.

    What is the purple wedding?

Joffery getting poisoned, his face turned purple so it was called "The Purple Wedding" in the books. I think they only mentioned it once in the show so it never really caught on.

  • Robb had no interest in The Iron Throne just Northern independence.

  • robb would just get lost in the politics tbh

  • Probably still Ol' Bran

  • he goes home to rule an independent north however there would probably be a lot of people pushing him to take the throne

  • Problem was none of the other players were interested in granting independence. Daenerys might have but really even if he beat the Lannisters and won independence, one of the others would’ve taken him on for the North.

  • The southern kingdoms are not his problem.

  • Nah, he’d just go home and rule the independent north. Stannis would probably take over, and will most likely attempt to retake over the north. The war stalls until Daenerys invades, who Robb would ally with to crush Stannis. Daenerys either allows the north to remain independent (unlikely) or Robb would have to bend the knee to her, and considering she has three dragons and his army just fought two back to back wars, he would to spare his people from a pointless war.

  • He didn’t even want the Iron Throne. He wanted to be king of an independent North+ Riverlands.

  • I think Robb wanted no Iron Throne in the first place, the Seven Kingdoms to be restored to their status from before Aegon

  • No, he made it very clear he never had any desire to sit on the iron throne. He wanted the north to be independent. So if he’d won he would’ve killed Joffrey and maybe Tywin and then gone home. Stanis and Danny would’ve fought for the throne, and whoever ended up winning would’ve either let him keep the north or he would’ve fought another war to keep his independence.

  • He made bad decisions because he was pussy whipped and it got them all killed. He may have known how to fight a war, but didn't know diplomacy which is half of it.

  • Robb said he didn’t want the throne, he just wanted justice for his father’s murder. I believed him. If he did decide to take it after defeating the Lannister’s, Danaerys would’ve melted everyone away just the same. The only difference is Jon wouldn’t be on her side so he wouldn’t be there to kill her. Arya or Tyrion would’ve had to do it.
