There was some seriously insane comedic gold being dropped by GRRM and the producers in the run up to season 1. All timer quotes that have lived rent free in my head for nearly 15 years or so.
I do remember reading his blog around S3-4 and he was regularly gushing about what an amazing actress she was, and what an all time performance she was giving on the show. That level of praise from George when the performance she was delivering was fine at best was quite something... I also remember him nominating her for the ice bucket challenge and thinking to myself "I can't imagine why he'd want to see her do that..."
The gooning is pretty cringe in general but I find Americans to be really weird with age gaps. Once she's 25 I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter who goons on her or who she goons on, that is well into fully informed adult territory. People in George's age range just ain't that hot on the whole.
Some random video came up on my YouTube feed of them spending the night in New Mexico. She went to his house, then for drinks and Mexican food, more drinks, movie theater, and more drinks lol. George has also said something along the lines that amongst the character Shae would be his choice to have dinner with "for obvious reasons". Dude definitely has some feelings for her lol

To me she looks noticeably older on this picture compared to their last meeting or in the show(which is perfectly normal, we age). She got visible lines under her eyes and deeper nasolabial folds. Her face lost volume.
I think its just the quality of picture. On my phone her skin looks perfectly smooth but if I zoom in you can see the bags on her eyes. Her skin isnt actually that perfectly smooth its just blended because of the lighting so she looks way WAY younger.
I want to point out while I don't have an issue with this even if it's kind of a creepy joke if the GOT showrunners ever made a comment about like this about audition tapes there would he a dozen articles and social media would be calling for their heads on spikes screaming sexism.
I watched a certain interview with him, some years ago though so don't ask which one, he did admit he gets sidetracked and lazy at times. I kind of understand, he's only human. There was also this one interview with Stephen King where he asks him how he manages to write books so fast lmao. Tells you enough. I don't hold it against him, it's his life in the end

The Dark Tower series lays out the framework for a massive world/history/reality and there's a huge chunk of "lore"-type content in there. Then you throw in various tie-in novels set in that same reality and you've got something that, at minimum, has the same cachet as ASOIAF.
I think he is just over exaggerated. He might be bored from doing one thing his entire life. And then there are soo many plot lines opened that he has to keep track of. Plus he isnt young anymore, he have gained alot of wealth post tv shows which he now wants to enjoy. Earlier, the books were his lifeline, now he can survive without the books. They can make a show about aegons conquest to roberts rebellion and he earns millions. Or maybe direct/ write about old valyria days. He can ignore the publishers now as he isnt bound by their timeline anymore. He is free to do whatever he wants like bran.
He’s overrated in general. He developed a great world, and he wrote some very intriguing characters. That said, it’s the equivalent of being great at stick handling but having a lousy shot. “No finish” as we say in hockey.
Eh we can't be that rough with him. He's the kind of man that gets bored with the same thing from what I've seen. He said he likes writing short stories, he likes going into sci-fi besides fantasy, he likes working on other projects. Like he did writing for Elden Ring.
As a ASOIAF fan it is indeed frustrating that we'll probably never get closure with the story, at least I personally have no hope that we will, but we also can't just tell the man what to do with his time, it is what it is

He will never complete the book because the show has already been completed. If the books are written, the hype will be over, and the amount of money he is making right now will decrease. He has everything to enjoy his old life. Maybe after he dies, we will get closure, and someone will write the book with help from his notes.
I fundamentally disagree with this because there is supposed to be 2 more books not 1. If it's supposed to be the last book, I can sort of understand but the penultimate book will not complete the series.
I also think the same, he may have written the books, but due to the fear of backlash and after that not getting any work, he is delaying the release and will release it at his last time or after his death.

Her having an accent has nothing to do with it. The fact is someone who didn't grow up speaking a language and then acting in a role that requires that language IS going to affect the performance. That's just common sense and shouldn't require any debate.
