• If I were behind that vehicle I would call the cops on them and report the license plate as a hazardous vehicle.

You can’t even see the plates bc of the lights. Maybe that’s the point of them idk? But this can’t be street legal.

What would you even say? "I'm driving on so and so towards so and so and a truck is blinding me with rear led? Im going to engage zimmerman mode?"

What would you even say? "I'm driving on so and so towards so and so and a truck is blinding me with rear led?…

    Yes

Im going to engage zimmerman mode?"

I have no idea what that means

  • I don't think we need laws banning these, I think we need laws allowing us to shoot paint balls at cars using them

They’re already illegal so might as well send it

How's your sling shot marksmanship those lights need to be put out of commission permanently

  • Gonna guess that they are also fed up with high beams in their rear view, not realizing they are also a villain in the same story.

    irony

  • They are too stupid to know how to wire them to the backup lights?

  • they're called a**holes

  • Same micro-peen assholes that buy oversized pickup trucks/SUVs and live in the city.

Good god, get some new material.

Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Nothing wrong with a tiny penis until you take it out on the world.

I don't have either. Not my fault that you lack the brainpower to think up a reason based on logic as to why those lights might be on.

Lmfao, there is no reason based on logic that those fuckin lights are on

Other than someone forgot to turn work lights off?

    Big truck smol pp 🤏🏼

    That struck a nerve!

  • Likely work lights that they forgot are on. I think there should be a better indicator to let the driver know they have these on

Being flipped off, honked at and high beamed is in indicator they also ignore. Wouldn't matter to these assholes.

That's my opinion on the matter as well.

What kind of work requires that

  • I was behind a flathead on the interstate that had a forklift on the back with what looked like super bright reverse lights on. I assume they just forgot to turn the forklift lights off after they loaded it but I hope they got pulled over at some point.

  • Truck drivers want to blind everyone. This is a fact.

You know it isn't necessary either. I see semis with headlights down low, like sedan level, so you know it isn't because of anything other than "style". The makers of that truck had the safety of others in mind, unlike modern lifted pickups with four spotlight ass LEDs at 4-6ft off the ground.

It’s hilarious how buses and semis don’t blind me but a regular truck does

  • Someone who wants to be found at fault for getting rear-ended, that’s who.

  • Oh man, I don't know where that rock came from!

  • Is it me or is this like the 4th time this week seeing trucks with those bright white lights on the back. Who made this a thing cause I really hope they get nothing for Christmas?!

  • Work or reverse lights some dipshit forgot to turn off. Rolling like that deliberately is cop bait

If only the cops would do their jobs.

There is no way they can turn them off whenever they see a cop. Even if they can turn them on and off, chances are they will get caught eventually. So that means police officers have seen this person driving with these lights.

So either the cops simply just don’t care about our safety…

or the drivers get away with this because they are “protected people”. Like maybe they are off-duty cops in their personal vehicles. Maybe they have mafia ties or are mob bosses. Or maybe they are politicians, or some rich untouchable elitist?

Or the person actually is getting pulled over and they are really smooth at talking to cops, or simply rich enough to keep eating the tickets and paying them off without a care in the world.

"Forgot" seems like a convenient excuse to do the "blind everyone else on the road" thing pickup truck drivers like to do with the front of their vehicles too.

  • There's been a couple of times I got stuck behind a tow truck or other work truck with these. I figured they were work lights that the driver forgot to shut off. I see the same sort of thing out on the water(boaters motoring along with lights on that they forgot to shut off).

No clue why you're being downvoted, this is probably what happened. I got stuck behind a tow truck with their work lights on last night and it sucked.

I'm guessing it's because I took issue with someone else's reason.

I mean.. this is a thing we are all seeing more frequently in the last few years, it's kind of hard to believe that people are suddenly forgetting their work lights are on

People have always and will continue to always forget to turn off their lights. It's worse now, because those lights are now LED lightsabers, but this sort of thing feels a bit different than the crazy headlights -- these work lights are intended to be crazy bright to illuminate a work area.

It'd be nice if we had regulations that required work lights like these to be linked to some sort of cut-out circuit that turned them off when the truck isn't in Park, but this sort of situation is just a lot less common than your garden variety Absurdly Bright Headlights, so I'm not as worried about it.

If I could only have one regulation, I'd rather have one for headlights than for work lights like these.

Then I guess its a really weird coincidence that most of us haven't ever seen the above scenario until recently but OK

  • I've considering doing this on a toggle for anyone behind me that blind me with their lights. I'm in a big truck where my head is touching the headliner and it's not just HID lights, I can physically see the high beam light on smaller vehicle dashes as I force them to pass me. A-holes are everywhere

  • I think I just realized the purpose, to prevent license plate reading. Doesn't make it ok though.

  • What a fucking douche bag.

  • Classic truck-guy slop behavior.
