• Sound like someone whose paperwork is going to be carefully reviewed for irregularities, and probably have an immigration trial scheduled

I don’t know why he mentioned “LEGALLY”. That’s how Somalian immigrants got here.

They weren’t like Melania Knauss who overstayed her visa, became associated with Jeffrey Epstein, and had Donald Trump’s lawyer get her a ‘genius’ visa.

  • Why do conservatives think that it’s a gotcha that life in the US is better than the one that immigrants left? It’s literally the American Experience, that their white European ancestors enjoyed what that place was a shithole.

Most likely attempting to defend some sort of controversial comments such as calling every country in Africa a shit hole like our president does.

  • What are they even trying to argue here? That immigrants move trying to find a better life? Duh?

Must be the "If you are so proud of your country, why did you leave it?".

    Because salaries are better elsewhere?

I suspect also a dash of "you should agree with us talking shit about your country of origin, or at least don't call us out for doing so."

  • Lol god luck with that, as if they won't try to deport your ass the second they can

  • They're going to try to revoke the citizenship of the Somali refugees or otherwise harm them and ruin their lives, and the motive is just pure virulent racism. I wonder if Grandpa Peter there is himself an anti-African racist. It looks likely.

  • No country is objectively better than any other. Yes there are countries that may have better living conditions and better standards but that does not make them objectively better because the standard for which is to determine what is better is also subjective. For some people it is a big military that makes a country better, for others it's a GDP, for others it's an HDI, for others it's the language, for others it's how many international partners and treaties it's a part of, for others it's simply the weather, for others it's the politics, and for others it's the food.

Many people have different reasons for coming. Some reasons may not even have anything to do with the country itself as many people go to other countries For love.

And this is just counting people who choose to go to those countries rather than going there for reasons such as being a refugee and stuff like that.

Other people will migrate there temporarily making them essentially non-immigrant residents. This means that they are temporary and have no intention of staying there long-term. Sometimes this is for studying opportunities as many people like the idea of visiting a place for the purposes of gaining an education and then going back. It's not necessarily because they see the country as the best but instead it's because they see the country as having experiences that they want to experience to help shape them as the person they want to be.

  • Simping for the people who hate you for your skin color will not save you. They will come for you sooner or later.

  • Like 90% of the people virtue signalling around Somalia want you enslaved on a plantation, Tinashe
