This guy has a history of getting a big leg of Jamon and posting up absolutely delicious looking photos of dishes made with it (and the cute dog staring longinly at it) every day for a big period of time.
So if you are subbed to this, prepare to be thinking about Jamon, and the lack of it in your life, pretty much every day for the next month or so
I didn't know if Jamon was a Michael Jackson reference with a hidden meaning. I looked it up and found that it's Iberico ham. Thanks for the explanation as to the history of the post. I guess I'm initiated.
Yeah, most of these pictures are Jamon de Serrano, a specific type of cured ham. Jamon Iberico is the breed of pig, and Pata Negra is the acorn-fed iberian pigs turned into cured ham.
You need to cover the meat with the fat or a damp cloth. Aside from that it's salted meat and designed to be held at room temperature for some time (like jerky). Eventually, it will get hard and the fat will go rancid. The trick is to eat it (or freeze the remainder) before that happens
Pam the original pup passed away (found this info stated in a comment like a year ago in old post. Went searching for answers when I noticed the new one)
There’s a substantial amount of fat and you won’t be able to recover all of the meat - I spent weeks carving mine up and had to stop here, I didn’t eat it fast enough - was starting to go bad.
For cost effective I don’t know how it compares but it was really enjoyable and an experience. Also I vacuum sealed a bunch of packages in my fridge
That looks like you did pretty well. We sealed the last of the one we got a few years ago (it was a half leg, boneless, and was almost $100) and used that for pizzas in the new year.
Since these sort of(pork) products are sold in extreme prices for no reason in my country, this rose is the best of the flowers I can see in these days
What's happening here? I see everyone running so I'm gonna run. But what are we running from?

Jamon is Spanish for Ham. It's weird people are using the word like a discrete term.

It's like when people say queso instead of cheese, or baguette instead of loaf.
A baguette isn’t a loaf though nor does it mean loaf in French
Got ‘em
I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.
Jamon, Jamon, Jamon whole wheat, alright!
Ironically it’s supposed to be “ham on whole wheat” but tbh… since this dude has done the jamon this is all I hear.
Because… I’m fat. I’m fat. You know it.
Oh, this is the jamon guy?!?
HE IS!
DogMeatsFood
The dog is the OP.... he's always in the picture because he is plugging his onlybarks on his profile page.
Just mounted my jamon today. Looking forward to a month of yummy charcuterie without having to post it on reddit for karma
As soon as I saw "Jamon" I had a strange feeling of Deja Vu, like an old friend just stopped by to catch up. Glad these comments reminded me why. Lol
hee-heeee! (moonwalks)
Jamon...super nice knife...scheming dog...OH SHIT, IT'S HAPPENING!
Sometimes you never know what you have until it’s gone. Glad you’re back Jamon and company.
I instantly recognised the jamon guy is backk.
I'd know that dog anywhere
Different dog to last year :(
One modern many episode show of a similar nature, sitcom, etc that is comparable to this?'
Go. Or forever concede to me
Parks and Recreation.
Knew I would regret not making this explicitly clear.
But that is an OG series from 2009.
I'm gonna need one that started in last 7 or so years.
So the dog is finished eating for days now?
Holy shit ARE WE BACK?
We are so back
To live in a time of Jamon AND chives
Lmaoooo. You also a part of Chive watch? 🤣
I was there for chive-11
Happy Jamon-lidays everyone
Great cutting technique!
Jamon is back.
“Looks like meat’s back on the menu”
Do they know about menus? Have they been to a restaurant?? Do they have restaurants in Mordor???
They have to know about reservations. One does not simply walk into a restaurant in Mordor.
Whenever I read jamon I read it like Michael Jackson Shamone
I always go to Chris Tucker in rush hour.
JAMON LEE! JAMON!
Can someone explain to me how this doesn't go bad and rot away? I know they put a TON of salt on it but still don't fully understand

They put a ton of salt on it.
It’s a lot of salt. It is dried and cured meat. Drying via salt is the original meat preservation method.
Basically, the salt and by extension the dehydration of the meat prevents the bacteria which would normally make meat unsafe to eat from growing.
Where is the other doggy?

Pamn passed away last year. See top pinned post on IG: DogMeatsFood [if I post IG links here it gets flagged]
This is Conan ❤️
I immediately knew…
Jazz, we got the
My wife and I visited Spain for the first time this year. The jamón was life changing ❤️❤️❤️
Your poor dog 😅
Iberico?
Serrano, Costco sells them for a smidge over $100
I have gotten the Costco Serrano before and it was pretty good.
Canadian Costco only has 48 month aged Ibérico for a tidy price of $800.
I paid $140 cdn for a Serrano full leg. 6.5kg , so about $2.00/100g.. can barely buy salami for that price..
Hope the bone isn't crazy big. Expecting it to be 1-2 kilos

Just like in Spain? As good?
I have family from Spain and they all like the Costco one. If I'm not mistaken, the Costco jamon legs all come from there.
Well I’ve never been to Spain so I can’t compare but it’s yummy
Costco’s is imported from Spain
Doesn't look like it, but still good
It's that time of the year.
Is it a comeback of jamon guy? I think it was another dog
I just found out about Jamon and now I want some.
How is this usually pronounced because Michael Jackson says it in my head whenever I read jamon.
We’re Jamon. I wanna Jam it with you. We’re Jamon, Jamon.. and I hope you like Jamon too.
I totally thought these were petrified tree slabs. Now I want to try jam on. Looks delicious.
The most popular man at every wedding… the Jamon man. The Jaman, if you will.
Since these sort of(pork) products are sold in extreme prices for no reason in my country, this rose is the best of the flowers I can see in these days
Jamon Lee!
Can it just sit out or does it need to be wrapped up or refrigerated?
The amount of salt in that… has to be delicious.
We jamon, and we jamon in the name of the lord..
I guess it’s that time of the year again haha
