When I head to work around 4:30am, I have, in a (surprisingly rugged) Viperade holster on my hip, a Leatherman Signal, Jackson 2ch D4Sv2, Hank KC1 UV, Reylights Penlight Cu Seigaiha, and Cu OPen Pro.

However, just for fun, I generally also grab the following and toss it into a pocket:

-Cu Tek Ti-Tape measuring tape

-One of several silly, tiny, usually brass little AliExpress folding knives

-A 10180 flashlight (selected from (3) DQG, an old Cu Pimi, a new Ti Pimi, an old Cu Brinyte, etc)

-Sometimes a small flashlight-of-the-week (Maratac Recon Minima recently for a while, or my CuTiTs10, but presently the new Sofirn CuSC13)

-A pill vial (containing a rx NSAID, two types of rx painkillers, and a rx stimulant - yes, I’m sick)

And maybe another odd bit of something. Yeah, it can get heavy. That’s okay.

It’s interesting how the patina changes throughout the year. The OPen Pro and ReyLight get a lot of daily handling. Depending on where I’m working (factory, office building, nuclear plant, out in a solar field, etc), the time of year (rain, snow, hot sunlight), and their effects (dry hands, scouring dust, soaking wet pockets, sweaty hands), the patina can vary quite widely. It can go from a dull and boring even brown, to a dull brown with bright, polished highlights, to sometimes a real cool rainbow or oil-slick look!

Anyhow, someone posted their Sofirn CuSC13 starting to patina, and it inspired me to grab a semi-random handful of these items and take a picture to show you! Isn’t it fascinating? I need another nap.

Zzzzzzzz …
