I wish it was like old Leica cameras where it would be black PVD coating with Brass underneath so when it wears you see the brass peak through. This is just a bit boring.
So I get the weight and thermal mass of brass without the tarnishing? Other than itβs not free whatβs the down side of this thing? Will the finish wear off if I sneeze on it?
I like the occasional hefty copper or brass flashlight, and while I would be interested in a gold plated one, I feel like they should have chosen a more attractive model.
I think at the point you are spending $150 plus on a titanium alloy or gold plated lamp (minus with a coupon!) I think opulence and appearance are more of a consideration than thermal properties.
Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
I like them both but I really don't need these in my life right now.. but these would make a beautiful gift for someone you don't want to burden with learning Anduril, so I'm going to have to keep them in consideration.
Sucks for weight, too, compared to aluminum. Light makers could make it lighter in Ti if they were willing to make the walls thinner, but no one wants to retool for a limited edition titanium run.
My only issue with this is that the E75 is meant to be a workhorse light... I can understand raw unpolished titanium, brass or copper... But gold plated just means this particular one will be sitting pretty on a shelf with other high end customs, but unlike them, would just be wasting away its utility...
It's too good of a useful light to be sitting pretty.
Too ugly of a light to gold plate. Iβd rather have a barebones light plated for show. Or rather have veleno designs titanium custom lights instead. Or even rather have Zircuti or timascus lights from relight.
Gold plating is complex and requires special equipment. Initial investment is costly and makes no sense for them to buy it for limited runs. So they are outsourcing the job. Which makes it even more expensive. Idk. The aluminum version of the light itself is 100$ so just 60$ extra for a bronze light with outsourced gold plating seems cheap. But could be wrong. Who knows how these Chinese people make their money.

The bronze light is silver coated. I am hoping for a Leica like patina over the silver wears.
Oh man NOW THAT will look amazing π
I just got one it's heavy as frig I love it

360g of goodness!
Flashlight companies, take note.

I have no idea on the performance of this, but you may be right about the finish π
I mean, gold is famous for being able to layer unbelievably thinly lol

The "titanium alloy natural" looks really good too for ten dollars less!

Wish I could afford (one or) both but my flashlight budget is stretched, sweet hosts Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Titanium sucks for heat transfer though

I think that it actually looks better on this particular model.
Iβm with you, I havenβt got the budget for these at the moment. But I may buy a lotto ticket this week π
Gold is still gold and it scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7.

i have the Wurkkos WK03 Gold and itβs sick. go for it OP!
Not gold plated, that one, though. Solid gold.
Someone asked today if flashlights are toys or tools. That's definitly a toy.
The color may be obnoxious, but I like it for functionality. You get a host made of a highly conductive metal with a finish that won't tarnish.
I'd be more impressed if it was plain copper underneath, it conducts something like three times faster than brass
Gold Terminator M1 when???
Obnoxious
Paying a premium for some that rubs off over time.
Peak flashlight is aluminum cylinder.
This is no more obnoxious than titanium, copper, brass, etc. Fun for collectors.
Iβd like this flashlight a lot better without the glass-break bezel and the flower pedal spill.
lol ma Iβm good
I wish they would stop with all the meme material models and actually make more than one color for the 5000k aluminum models

Why don't they make a gold-plated L35?
If you carry that light with a gold-plated Hi Power, you might just be a warlord.
219B 4000K R9080 rosy emitters? π
Looks like 2 options for emitters, neither are 4000k

Dedoming the 5000K 519As might drop the CCT slightly or you could swap the emitters with some other 519A.
Itβs an easy swap but the 800 lumen runtime with the 519a is really great. Dedomed is nice.
Itβs peaknoxious. ππ
No this is a Peak flashlight!

A sign of phony, gilded times we are living in.
Interesting β¦ bought, because it is the first gold one in my collection β¦
159$? Doubt itβs real gold.
Gold plated, could just be mere microns thin I know gold is expensive by weight, but if a very small volume is used, could it feasibly be real?
