• Nintendo released a full trailer for the re-release of Path of Radiance on NSO that they just... didn't post anywhere but the Switch 2 news section. It's not on their YouTube nor their Twitter.

So I'm posting it--here you go!

Insane the lengths that Nintendo of America will go to ignore those games. NoJ, NoE and SmashJP all tweeted something lol

This is the same Nintendo of America that released Radiant Dawn in NA around the same time Super Mario Galaxy came out. So yeah, it doesn't seem they care much... as unfortunate that is. The Tellius saga deserved better treatment during its international releases. Better advertising that's for sure. NoA could have at least made up for that with the NSO release of PoR, but they didn't.

It's honestly baffling how bad the marketing is for Fire Emblem compared to Mario and Zelda. I get that SRPGs are way more niche, but the marketing feels comically incompetent. It probably wouldn't have made a big difference, but I wonder if the series would have turned out differently if they had better marketing and better release schedules.

They just recently got a leadership change. I reckon they are having internal movements in staff; this and the recent holidays probably affected this.

Nintendo is just simply reliving the long-standing tradition of awful advertising for Tellius games in North America. It’s enough to bring a tear to my eye.

I bought this game when it came out because of TV advertisement

I went looking for this earlier today and couldn't find it anywhere even after it had been released for two days.

They're giving you the authentic PoR experience from 2005, including not advertising it.

It's on youtube now. Not sure why it took them this long.

  • The way they insist on saying "The Fire Emblem Path of Radiance Game" is so awkward.

But the people have to know it's a game!!

ever since the Wii U, Nintendo’s marketing has been incredibly specific like that, it’s kinda funny

Nintendo has been doing that for a decade at this point.

The always call everything the "XYZ game" during directs

And it's always driven me crazy!

Helped me, I was starting to think it was a stage play or audio drama

I think it must be some kind of weird direct translation that doesn't sound awkward in Japanese, but yeah it just sounds so goofy to specify that it's a game

It's a legal thing that started getting attached in the 2010s. I think it's a particular read on copyright that is only marginly useful

  • Finally, a legal way to play this game that won't drive me bankrupt.

It's Nintendo, they're probly gonna sell it for $60

Still a massive improvement over the $200-$300 I usually see on re-sale :p

Used copies tend to actually be around 100.
200 is not really selling and 300+ are unopened.

Either way, it's significantly better to use NSO than the physical copy. DON'T PAY SCALPERS!

I don’t think it’s scalping to own a 20 year old game and decide to sell it

I mean, technically, yes, but also no.

    It's NSO, so yes, $60.
But that's uh, coupled with a shit load of other games. So... about that.

  • “Ike fights for his friends”

    he said the thing

edit: i made this comment before he said “prepare yourself”

  • 20 years!!!! Fuck I’m old. I bought this game brand new the week it came out for the GameCube. I still have it. No one told it would be worth $200. I got it because I liked the gba fire emblem which was an amazing game and I got that game because of smash bros melee. Also amazing. And I got that and the GameCube because one day I went to my cousins house and he had the original smash for the N64 and that thing was so amazing I blew my little mind wide open. I hope someone understands.

Same here! I was 15 and this was my introduction to FE. I love the Tellius saga and hope in a few years RD gets a re release on Wii nso. But until then it’ll be quite a few playthroughs with Nephenee always being in each team.

I love my Nephenee! Favorite all the time!

Same bro! Although I didn’t like PoR and ended up trading it in 😭

  • Its still so annoying that you can’t own any of the games on NSO.

yea it sucks, one thing I will never do is pay a subscription for access to a game

  • See I’d hoped to get a switch 2 by the time this released but alas

I STILL can’t play this game

  • Wow this trailer really brings home how wonderful a soundtrack PoR possessed. "His Father's Son" is such a nostalgic melody.

  • NEED RADIANT DAWN

  • Wishing for the day nintendo lets you buy "classic" games one-by-one instead of needing a subscription... Till then it's back to sea!!

God I miss the Wii virtual console

Oh yeah I still very much hate that Nintendo's official emulation is locked behind subscription AND internet connection.

Stupidest fucking thing, it actively makes me continue using ''illegal'' emulation even if I'm subscribed

You mean like the virtual console everyone wants back?

those days are long gone, friendo

  • I'll die on this hill that the Tellius games are the pinnacle of the series. I'm glad that more people have access to playing it.

  • Man they really didn't bother showing any love to this re-release, but WarioWare gets its own trailer posted on socials and YouTube.

EDIT: Took 'em long enough lol

  • This trailer is so sick and awesome wow

  • Oh its beautiful

  • Starts off the trailer with best lion man Caineghis

  • Oh shit FUCK YEAH! It's a shame they kept the 4:3 ratio, fans fixed that ages ago on emulation.

  • The item get jingle when Available Now popped up

  • Yknow what’s an little funny, for the music app they advertise 3 songs to be on it. One of the 3 songs is not on the music app (Victory is near)

Most of the other tracks are cutscene exclusive ones which I understand. But it’s hilarious one of the songs advertised is not even on the music app

Might be looking at the Top Tracks. If you go into All Tracks (which has a total of 64 songs), then Victory is Near can be found there btw

  • I've never played the Ike games, gonna need to check this out

  • I used to dream of days like this!!

(Not that I have a Switch 2 yet... sigh)

  • Oh was hoping for a remaster or something.

  • Ah love the part where ike protects Soren~<3

  • "Returning after over 20 years"

Thanks, I have twice as much gray hair.

  • This might be a really unpopular take, but I really like the whole shipping element of the fire emblem games, and it's kind of ass in this series. The game itself is pretty fun and I like the characters for the most part, but the most attractive feature for me aren't those things so, I'm not really that excited about it. I would have been if they didn't just port it but add in features though.

  • Was this game any good? Worth it to play? I’ve only ever played Three Houses and Engaged. I loved Three Houses but the story of Engaged bored me.

this game is freaking awesome and you should play it. it’s among the best in the series

Great story but it does start a little slow. Generally considered among the best if not the best in the series

  • Me thinking this would be a remaster or remake

    Well, better than nothing

It really is telling that it's like

"we are proud to announce we've added the emulation capabilities of 10 years ago to our console"
