I was considering coming back to FF14 and trying the game out now that I got an ultra wide display. This would be a nice time to hop back in, do a couple of roulettes and get a feel for the game again.
People who are already subbed should really get the free days added to their accounts this time around, what with the constant DDoS attacks and all.
It's sad that a game with a monthly sub and paid expansions does nothing to compensate its players for stuff like this, but there's free to play games which compensate players for server downtime during patches and maintenance - even if you've never spent money on them.

You need to have been inactive for 30 days to make use of a free log in campaign. So unless your sub ends right now, the campaign will have ended before you're eligable.
I recommend waiting a bit before logging in if you want to participate in the Valentione's Day event that takes place in February.

dates are random for this event, one time the event even started in January 30. But is before February 12th for sure.

FWIW the upcoming Valentione's 2026 event will supposedly have 7 glam pieces (2 hats, 2 tops, 1 skirt, 1 pants, 1 shoes) as reward, so choose wisely.
Cozy/Comfy Valentione's Attire, two sets, both up on sites like wiki, gamerescape, etc. Cozyvibe's not to my taste, but always cool to see free sets.

Yeah, they often do it around major patches. The last one was in August, so around 7.3.
They do it around major patches to fluff the log in numbers up to investors. You only have to log in a single time to be recognized as a MAU
