Hey, I’ve been wondering for a while—what do you think the best couple dynamic is? I’m working on a creative project and have two main couples: one is a WLW with a yin-and-yang dynamic, and the other is MLM with complementary personalities that start out with strong codependency and slowly become healthier.

I love these dynamics quite a bit, but I’d like to know other people’s thoughts on the matter.

  • What are some of your favorite relationship dynamics to read or watch?"
  • "Do you prefer couples that start messy and grow, or ones that are stable from the start?"
  • Personally, I like when the couple are people and do normal things. They fight, but still enjoy their time together. They have fun, but can still push each other's buttons either because they're messing with each other or they haven't quite grown into each other's dynamic(s).

Just DON'T do the Friends thing and do this back and forth nonsense with your couple(s) the entirety of your book/series.

  • Start with real characters not tropes

I just oversimplify it for the sake of this post dont worry they have very distinct personality

  • If you can do something like the Thin Man, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I tend to prefer something stable. Most of the relationships that I have seen as messy implode, and it's not something I enjoy reading about.

  • I really like enemy's to lovers. I love the tension and hatred that slowly dissolves into more. Its also very funny. Anything that can make me laugh. Like lights out or a court of thorns and roses. Or even my neighbor from hell series is very good at that.
