Bingo. I hit with him, but got burned multiple times and the end result was he was riding my bench most of the time (especially when Danny Dimes went down).
The inconsistency absolutely caps his fantasy value.
lol right? I lost in the Semis with him going off on the bench (brutal)... but I also kept him firmly on the bench for my 3rd place game a week later and was 100% right to.
That says everything you need to know about what you get with Alec.
Yup. I had him this season. He had to be in your lineup every week because his scoring was very volatile at times. He helped me out really nice late in the season, however he gave me a goose-egg in the championship game. I stole the win by .06 points, but I was very angry at Alec Pierce there for a while.
I got like 2 solid weeks out of Pierce but the first time I put him in my lineup in my big league was the game where he had 1 catch for 4 yards… I lost that week and missed the playoffs by 1 game lol
His best game was with Riley Leonard under center. In the one other game where Leonard got most of the snaps, Pierce had like 3 catches and 50 yards, which I think is alright considering it was Leonard's 1st actual game and he took over at the end of the 1st rather than starting. Assuming Pierce does stay with the Colts and Leonard gets more reps in the off-season, I think Pierce's value will be just fine.
These are the type of guys I typically do NOT chase the season after. If you hit on them the right year, great. But chasing points from guys like this usually works out poorly.
I don't know if it's a flash in the pan because he's gotten better every single year. If he stays in the crowded Indianapolis passing room it's questionable, but if he switches teams he gets much more interesting
I mean you typically don’t have to chase on guys who go undrafted which is what happened with Alec Pierce this year. If you draft him next year depending on where he goes there’s a good chance drafting him means you invest a later round pick on him unless some crazy hype machine starts up in the off season
I feel like he is going to sign a big contract somewhere. And he is a favorite of several fantasy guys like Matt Harmon. So I think he is going to get a decent amount of hype in the off-season. Just kind of feels like a trap. But that's just my feeling.
I think he’ll be hyped but also think he’ll be good if he has a decent QB. The smartest analysts I listen to were pretty much all raving about his growth this year so I could see myself taking him in round 6+ or so.
Worked for Jennings though. But generally I agree. Guys like Pierce, Wilson, and Watson will prob be drafted higher than they should cause of chasing points
Is it chasing points? I listen to Matt Harmon and according to him, there’s been a fundamental change in the way Pierce and Watson play. They both started as deep threats only and have expanded their routes. Not saying to draft them at any cost but just because a guy scores more points than he had previously doesn’t mean you’re chasing them. You have to look deeper or listen to guys that do. The two guys I mentioned didn’t get lucky, they got better.
I think it was Derek from the fantasypros podcast that broke the formula for Alec Pierce, anytime he went against defenses that had high rates of single high coverage is when he popped off
Makes sense.
In this video I talked about a couple plays that he broke off on.
In those plays, the CB tried to force him inside to the safety so he couldn’t stretch the field on them.
However he found ways around it (stacking the DB mostly)
Alec and Christian Watson had pretty great ADOT seasons. They had average ADOTs of 17+ yards on 18+% target shares.
They were on pace for 20+ average ADOTs (which would blow anyone else in nfl history out of the water) with those target shares, but then their QBs got hurt.
Pretty much every WR in the league is vulnerable to a QB injury. Maybe high-aDOT guys are slightly riskier, because backup QBs usually aren’t even allowed to take deep shots, but we can’t draft asking “what if [starting QB] gets hurt?” Even guys like Ja’Marr and Jefferson can lose a lot of fantasy value due to bad QB play.
I think he'll be a great value—especially in Standard formats.
Everything I'm hearing (from other posts on this sub and outside articles), there will be a significant drop-off from WRs 1-5 to the rest of the field. So someone like Alec should be a great candidate that you can seemingly buy low on. Justin Boone has him at WR42 right now for 2026 and he has DK Metcalf being listed at WR25. Are you spending the capital on Metcalf for essentially the same production as Pierce when you can get him a few rounds later? I'm not.
Really depends on the QB. Hes prob the best WR on the team though I do find it quite hilarious we hyped up Pittman, Downs, and now Pierce in subsequent seasons and the following year it’s someone else taking the spotlight. I’m guessing he’s gonna be drafted as WR 30-35 ish
He's a great WR with a really good route tree but you'd never guess after 3/4 years on the Colts with inconsistent QB play and a really deep WR room that he got buried under weekly. He's really only used as a deep threat sadly and only really playable against squads playing single high safety consistently or otherwise have difficulty covering speed at the #2 spot. Even then with the Colt's QB woes it's a bit of a tumultuous play next year, I hope he lands on a team with more solid QB play.
He’s the white Mike Williams. In order to capture the value he gives, u have to start him EVERY week
I always had to decide between him and Quentin Johnson and almost always chose wrong
That would be so infuriating.
That’s like choosing between slamming my dick in a drawer or slamming it in a car door.
Bingo. I hit with him, but got burned multiple times and the end result was he was riding my bench most of the time (especially when Danny Dimes went down).

Bro put up a giant goose egg in the finals 😂😂

Sorry, man. But guessing that was more of a grampa Rivers problem than a Pierce problem.
played against him, Jacobs, and Kittle in the finals.. lets just say it was a cakewalk against a triple goose egg team
Yup. I had him this season. He had to be in your lineup every week because his scoring was very volatile at times. He helped me out really nice late in the season, however he gave me a goose-egg in the championship game. I stole the win by .06 points, but I was very angry at Alec Pierce there for a while.
I'll still try to pick him up next season.
Gabe Davis vibes
Except Pierce isn’t ass
I got like 2 solid weeks out of Pierce but the first time I put him in my lineup in my big league was the game where he had 1 catch for 4 yards… I lost that week and missed the playoffs by 1 game lol
He looked incredible some weeks. Really interested where he ends up or if it was just a flash
He's a free agent. Pair him with Drake Maye's downfield accuracy and he'd be an absolute WEAPON.
Dang that would be a lethal combo!
Making a mental note on this one. He ends up in NE and I’m going all in on him next year
He'll my WR3 next year. He holds no name value and I am banking on him falling in my superflex.
As a Pats fan, I approve this message.
Me too ;)
Also really depends on who's slinging it next season. I don't think Daniel Jones is expected to be ready week 1

He's been this good his whole time in the league, he's just been injured for most his time in it
My jeanty vs his Alec Pierce was a movie during our leagues toilet bowl
Pierce had 0 points in week 17... is your toilet bowl a different week?
It was week 16

If Pittman is not in the picture next year and Jones is behind center it is a smash pick up.
They'd still have Downs and Warren. He also just doesn't profile as a high volume guy. So he'd be super volatile.

Watson, Pierce and Michael Wilson were my waiver wire heroes after BTJ, DJ Moore, and my injured flex running backs (Connors and Najee Harris).
Similar style receivers Pierce for sure better tho (he doesn’t get hurt)
The availability is a huge con for Watson, but he's a better RZ threat due to his body. Same number of TDs with 5 less games.
I think he'll be a great value—especially in Standard formats.

1k yards on less than 50 receptions btw
He was a best ball hero for me this year
Buying high next year idc
Best Ball GOAT
this
47/1000/6
Up from 37/800/7
Good players get targets/receptions because they can get open. This guy can catch bombs, which is valuable, but a distant second to volume.
My man had a good season except for he put up a big old DONUT in the Fantasy Superbowl
I hear the Bills are looking for an "X with benefits" to add to that poverty-ass WR room...
An*
Would be shocked to see him leave Indy. If he does, the obvious destination would be Buffalo
that would be such a monster move for everyone
Alec Pierce you are a COMMANDER
This guy constantly passes the eye test. Field stretching speed and great hands.
Here is an important metric:
In games with 5 or more targets, going back to 2024, he’s averaging over 12 points per game in half PPR.
This guy eats when he gets opportunity. In 2025 he only averaged 5.6 targets per game which was 49th in the league!!
If he can average closer to 7 targets, he is absolutely going to deliver WR2 value
He unfortunately didn't survive final roster cuts on my dynasty team. Looking back, I could have really used the depth.

I know just from the graphics whose video this is and this guy always exaggerates everything possible -- and not just in the title.
Alec Pierce had a great season but nothing this guy says is going to be a fair assessment.
Oh wow 12.2 points per game also skewed by a game that's not in fantasy! Quite historic!
Easiest waiver wire keeper ever for next season
I think maybe we're using historic a little liberally.
