Buccs please. As an Egbuka owner, I loved what I saw the first half of the season. If Evans retires and McDaniels is hired, I'm going all in on Egbuka again next season.
Imo Egbuka gets a big boost if Mike Evans retires, but the TB wide receiver core is going to continue to heavily rely on Godwin and McMillan if they're available
That tells us literally nothing we didn't already know as a 32 year old wide receiver. That's like if I told my boss "I love this place, I'm going to be around for 0-100 years!"
Why would aaron donald retire he could go 8-9 more years. Why would megatron retire. Football players don't need a reason to retire. Maybe he's tired of racking up injuries
I love Egbuka, had him this year, there’s just too many mouths to feed in Tampa. If Mike Evans and Godwin are still there it’s going to be crowded. Evans is clearly Baker’s preferred target and who he looks to when he’s in trouble. Godwin will get some targets, McMillan looked good the last few weeks, and they will have a fully healthy Irving. Egbuka is definitely a good football player, but for fantasy it feels very crowded in Tampa to expect high volume regardless of who is running the offense
Egbuka would've had like 4 more games of 10+ if Baker was healthy. i feel like his target share was also influenced by Baker's health down the stretch. there's also reason to believe that Egbuka will get better next year and you'll have Godwin and Evans getting a year older so they'll be looking for others to step up
No way they are doing this if they don’t already unofficially have him. Imagine if they said they’d keep mcdaniels, then turn around and fire him, then get stuck with the dregs of the coaching carousel.
It's like people don't even do a quick Google search. Achane led the league in YPC was 5th for RBs in targets and 14th!!! for RBs in rush attempts. How is this force-feeding a player?
You have to look at the percentage of plays that Achane gets the ball though.
Miami is second to last in plays per game this season and Achane still had more targets than every RB not named CMC, Gibbs, or Bijan.
Not to mention being middle of the pack in rush attempts on a team that is on offense far less than everyone else and trailing most of their games. Teams tend to air it out when they're losing but Achane was still getting that many carries.
If they were even somewhat of a competent offense this year we would absolutely be saying with confidence that Achane is force-fed.
More like people aren't reading. No one is saying Achane sucks. But McDaniels is known for his offensive scheming. Unless Miami knocks it out of the park with their hires and somehow gets a good QB, the offense is most likely going to take a step back. And Achane's role might decrease if they bring in someone who views him in the traditional role for a guy his size.
Really? You don't understand this? Achane is heartbroken he didn't rush for 4k yards to save his head coach's job and now he's going to commit seppuku. Do I really need to spell it out for you?
And that was when he was lucky. So many times he’d play like one down on the drive and just sit him for the rest inexplicably. Don’t even get me started on that one “migraine” game
Depends who they replace him with, but McDaniel is a genius at getting Achane the ball creatively. We've seen this story before many times - most recently with Bucky Irving. Look how much worse he looked (injury not included) without Liam Coen calling plays and getting him the ball in good spots. He avg like 3 ypc and barely caught the ball.
When I say injury not included, all I meant is looking at games when he was healthy. He obviously had worse total numbers bc he didnt play a bunch. But when he did - was my point.
Yes, and what im saying is thats not true. From weeks 1-4, he played upwards of 70%+ snaps in 3 of those 4 weeks, received similar rushing usage as the back half stretch of last year where he broke out, but garnered at minimum 4 receptions in every game. He broke 70% of snaps only once and caught 4 or more passes 3 times the entirety of last season. His usage was much better than under coen, and his production wouldve been as well had he and that entire bucs offense not gotten injured.
He had to be a genius because our Oline was shit for years. If you watched the team, the blocking schemes were very exotic, lots of 22 formations and extra blockers in there, which basically made the passing game easy to defend.
People who are saying the offense will take a step back have no idea WTF they are talking about for multiple reasons. The main obvious one is that the roster is not even set yet. We have no idea who will be blocking for Achane yet. If you give Achane a hole, he will hit it.
I suspect the new GM will upgrade the OL, and the new head coach will probably be much better at being a head coach. The Miami offense was not great due to personnel. McDaniel managed to squeeze something out of it, but if you give a good coach a good OL and personnel, Achane will probably even have more success than he did this year.
They have a terrible OL currently, and a terrible QB. And you're suggesting that you think they'll be better next year bc they will for sure upgrade.
Problem is that is not a given. The only certainty at this very moment is that they will have a play caller downgrade. My only point was that McDaniel leaving is a downgrade. You telling me surrounding parts will get better is not relevant to my point bc if the surrounding parts got better AND they kept McDaniel, it would be a better situation that what is currently happening.
Not sure I agree there. The offense was easy to shut down. A lot of people forget how bad achane struggled the year prior when Tua got hurt.
I like McDaniel but achane is not a result of coaching genius. McDaniel identified he had a stud rb and he schemed for him. Any competent coach will do the same, the big difference nobody is mentioning is our shit GM has been fired. He really was terrible and had no clue how to build an oline (or team) . An upgrade at GM will make a huge difference. Then if you add a run heavy coach like Harbaugh, I like achane a lot. But hey if nobody else does that means I get him for a low cost and I’m not complaining about it .
McDaniels is from the Shanahan tree and these guys make RBs catching in space a feature of their offenses. See 49ers and Dolphins RB performances over the past years.
I think he might land another HC gig? Like after stefanski and Harbaugh wouldn’t he be most desirable? Only thing I could see is if Harbaugh goes to the giants and stefanski to the ravens he wouldn’t have too many great openings left and might want to be an OC for a year or two.
Harbaugh is one of the hottest coaches to hit the market in a while. He can walk into any open position and basically demand the job and likely could approach certain teams and they may fire their current coach just to hire him. He can be as picky as he wants to be. Unless he wants to seek out a rebuild he’s going to go somewhere with a good situation.
The benefit is our owner spends and we are looking for a GM. Our owner is also close personal friends with the Harbaughs back from Michigan. Additionally we are looking for a new GM so if we sell Harbaugh on building his own front office, he can essentially make the rebuild the exact way he would like.
Lamar played great in week 18. Full offseason to recover he should be fine. Also his play was definitely not the same but he wasn’t bad necessarily. He’ll bounce back
I kind of disagree with the "he's better suited to OC duties than being an HC." We saw the team enamored with him for a few years, and then things soured when Tua declined and the GM stripped a lot of good pieces. He's a quirky nerd but he's made that work with a locker room (plus Winning Fixes Everything). Frankly a bright offensive mind is always gonna be able to demand head coaching gigs, so if he doesn't get another HC job this year, he will the next.
Arizona, Atlanta, and Las Vegas is domed so he can set the temp. He'll probably also tell them to increase the lights so he can wear grandma shades indoors.
Crazy that he lasted until Thursday this week. Please go to the Buccs so we can see MVP Baker again. I was a big hater of him early on and his personality at first, but I like him way more now that he's mellowed out a little bit.
Someone’s offense is gonna get a massive upgrade next year.
McMillan the original egbuka
Why would evans retire? That dude is gonna go 3-4 more years.
He's talked about it. Not a sure thing either way and his contract is up.
No he's said he's either going to retire at the end of this season or maybe go for 1-3 more seasons. Contract is ending this season too.
That tells us literally nothing we didn't already know as a 32 year old wide receiver. That's like if I told my boss "I love this place, I'm going to be around for 0-100 years!"
I mean the guy asked why Mike Evans would retire and the response was that Mike Evans said he might retire, that kinda tells us something
Egbuka is definitely a good football player, but for fantasy it feels very crowded in Tampa to expect high volume regardless of who is running the offense
and at the end of the year he was also feeding otton a lot.
[deleted]
i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he takes over the Godwin role
Egbuka would've had like 4 more games of 10+ if Baker was healthy. i feel like his target share was also influenced by Baker's health down the stretch. there's also reason to believe that Egbuka will get better next year and you'll have Godwin and Evans getting a year older so they'll be looking for others to step up
As a Bucky owner, yes please!
I was thinking he would go there this morning
Would love to see what he can do in Philly with that group
Detroit would be awesome
Go get that ring, Mike.
I concur
Too many HC openings
Hope he becomes an OC. I think that’s the role he’s best suited for, not head coach.
That’s what I was implying.
I figured
As long as he stops doing corny ass interviews
He's kinda like the weirdo genius at a tech company or something, brilliant with the X's and O's but keep his ass away from the clients
He made the playoffs twice right
I' d look at Washington.
Mike McDaniel YOU are a commander
One can wish he would OC the Birds. He’s definitely getting a HC gig somewhere
Come back home - sincerely Niners
Would love him in Atlanta
LIONS
Lions please!
Texans, please!
Chargers probably won’t get rid Greg Roman but I’d love to see him with Herbert.
He runs a one read system . Not all qbs are that quick ..
If Tua Turndaballova and Quinn Ewers can do it, then I’m confident there’s a healthy amount of QB’s that could.
Why has nobody mentioned the Ravens?!
Cause Monken is still employed and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
No way they’re doing this if they’re not going all out for Harbaugh
I get that but why would he want a bad roster with a trash QB he can’t cut?
I didn’t say it was a particularly smart decision by the Dolphins
Maybe they have a plan to move up in the draft or make a trade for a QB or something? Idk
Lamar to Miami!
Tua for Lamar straight up 😂
Disgusting
Most teams with head coach openings aren't good by default!
Being rich and living in Miami sounds pretty sweet... but otherwise fully agree with you lol
Dumb people do dumb things all the time.
No way they are doing this if they don’t already unofficially have him. Imagine if they said they’d keep mcdaniels, then turn around and fire him, then get stuck with the dregs of the coaching carousel.
Man, swap them out and put McDaniel in Baltimore? Uh oh...
RIP Achane
100%. Achane is amazing but this certainly downgrades him a lot
A teams top RB dies because the HC leaves? I’m not understanding this.
He wont be terrible but McDaniels absolutely fed him and I don't see the next guy doing that at the rate he did
It's like people don't even do a quick Google search. Achane led the league in YPC was 5th for RBs in targets and 14th!!! for RBs in rush attempts. How is this force-feeding a player?
Maybe he's just really fucking good.
Now go google the amount of touches Achane had relative to his teammates. Or his % of overall touches on the team.
I'll give you a hint, he led the team in carries and receptions. And it's higher than Gibbs, Brown, Cook and more.
He was 5th and 14th because their team/offense sucked and had constant 3 & outs, not extending drives, turnovers and etc.
It's a lot easier for guys on better offenses to get more touches relative to their peers in the league.
How are you so sure before we even know who is replacing him?
Just an educated guess. Maybe the next guy will but it was elite usage so generally speaking you would think that would go down at least a little bit
I mean I'm keeping him regardless
Why? He was their entire offense. And not because he was fed. Because he was the only one gaining positive yards.
Yeah, the HC whose schemes are extremely beneficial to the RB position.
Really? You don't understand this? Achane is heartbroken he didn't rush for 4k yards to save his head coach's job and now he's going to commit seppuku. Do I really need to spell it out for you?
Hes going to commit Sudoku??????
No! His favorite character is Son Goku!
No! His favorite drink is Don Julio
As is tradition
Remember Bijan with Arthur Smith? It definitely matters.
"nice job getting 95 yards on this drive for 1st & goal Bijan. Now sit on the bench so Allegier can punch it in for the TD."
-Arthur Smith
And that was when he was lucky. So many times he’d play like one down on the drive and just sit him for the rest inexplicably. Don’t even get me started on that one “migraine” game

Cant really say “injury not included” when his utilization was much better this year than last prior to his injury.
When I say injury not included, all I meant is looking at games when he was healthy. He obviously had worse total numbers bc he didnt play a bunch. But when he did - was my point.

Achane thrived under Mike because he’s heavily schemed for in that system
Remains to be seen how the next HC uses him. He’s unremarkable physically so needs to be used in certain ways to bring out his strengths
McDaniels is from the Shanahan tree and these guys make RBs catching in space a feature of their offenses. See 49ers and Dolphins RB performances over the past years.
This is the buy window
Well it depends on who they hire too. Could be a boon.
I'll deff buy the dip
I traded him in a keeper league about a week ago of a first rd.
About to be the hottest OC candidate on the market
"Just as hot as Jan but in a different way." - Michael Scott
I think he might land another HC gig? Like after stefanski and Harbaugh wouldn’t he be most desirable? Only thing I could see is if Harbaugh goes to the giants and stefanski to the ravens he wouldn’t have too many great openings left and might want to be an OC for a year or two.
He’s the most desirable HC option imo as a Falcons fan, especially if he opts to keep Ulbrich as DC
Uh, Harbaugh?
he’s probably gonna take a more desirable job if i had to guess
Ravens and Dolphins about to swap coaches lmao
Doubt Harbough wants to go somewhere without a reliable QB
Harbaugh is one of the hottest coaches to hit the market in a while. He can walk into any open position and basically demand the job and likely could approach certain teams and they may fire their current coach just to hire him. He can be as picky as he wants to be. Unless he wants to seek out a rebuild he’s going to go somewhere with a good situation.
I don't think Miami makes this move without emerging as the top contender for Harbaugh. Makes no sense otherwise.
Your first mistake is thinking that Miami is doing this logically.
Exactly. What has Miami done in the last 25 years that makes anyone think they have the slightest idea what they're doing?
The benefit is our owner spends and we are looking for a GM. Our owner is also close personal friends with the Harbaughs back from Michigan. Additionally we are looking for a new GM so if we sell Harbaugh on building his own front office, he can essentially make the rebuild the exact way he would like.
Good point
i think harbaugh is waiting to see what happens with the bills.
That would be crazy
Is Sean McDermott on the hot seat?
Lions OC, inject it into my veins
Ngl, that’d be pretty dope.
The idea of humongous Dan Campbell next to Mike on the sideline is kinda funny to me lol. I can see it though, kinda like their personalities together
It’s like if Lenny and George were both good at coaching football
Big podium for dan, little podium for mike. Or we get him a stepstool.
Gibbs to the moon!
He'll get another HC shot somewhere. Too many open positions, unfortunately.
A man can still dream
Eagles please 🙏
You need an OC vacancy first 🤣
There is something very vacant about Kevin Patullo.
For real
Best timeline
Gibbs would start putting up LT numbers
Imagine how fun he would be on the ravens with Lamar instead of Tua
This could be crazy, as long as Lamar hasn’t actually fallen off the cliff with injuries
Lamar played great in week 18. Full offseason to recover he should be fine. Also his play was definitely not the same but he wasn’t bad necessarily. He’ll bounce back
This would get me to draft Xay Flowers again I fear
Dan Soder in shambles
Unless McDaniels goes back to the Niners as an OC
But now Katie can plan the wedding for any month!
Jayden Daniels/ Mike McDaniel combo would be glorious to see
Steelers PLEASE throw this man a bag of money
For OC? Yes
Hell yes
Congratulations Mike, you’re now an Eagle
Come to the Eagles!!
DAN DAMN CAMPBELL, GET ON THE DAMN PHONE!
Edit: Sorry, forgot what sub I was on. That’s the lions fan in me speaking lol
Back to the Niners you go!
Pls🥺
Dude hates Kyle Shanahan. No way he goes back there
Really? What's the history there?
Welcome to Atlanta, Mike.
Bijan would break fantasy football records
Well I don’t think he will have any trouble finding another job
Lions please!!!!
Agree - it’s not his fault for what happened to Tua
John Harbaugh and Dolphins owner Stephen Ross have ties via their shared Michigan background.
I bet Ross thinks he can get Harbaugh.
Tampa is the only opening with warm enough weather for Capri pants so I'm guessing that's where he'll go
Arizona, Atlanta, and Las Vegas is domed so he can set the temp. He'll probably also tell them to increase the lights so he can wear grandma shades indoors.
OC Washington
Mike McTurndajobover
Aikman's first move?
Oooooh good point.
And just like that, Harbaugh is in Miami
Welcome to the Packers OC
Harbaugh you are now a Dolphin 🐬
He's going to team up with DC and lions offense is going nuclear
Gibbs would probably be consensus 1.01 if he goes to the Lions, assuming he's not already. ARSB not far behind lol
Packers new OC. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Come to the Chiefs my son, you know it to be true
Trying to imagine what sort of pants McDaniel would wear in Kansas City . . . Nope, can't imagine it.
Shit he can wear tiger skin for all I care
If he joins the eagles…. Eagles win the ring next year.
Smash draft everyone in that offense.
I absolutely hate this for Achane
Achane value dropping
Crazy how much this offense fell off compared to a few years ago.
Howie do your thing
Time to come home, baby
Entering that Harbaugh sweepstakes
Crazy that he lasted until Thursday this week. Please go to the Buccs so we can see MVP Baker again. I was a big hater of him early on and his personality at first, but I like him way more now that he's mellowed out a little bit.
Dolphins have to be making a big push at Harbaugh.
Come on Mike, you know you want to have an offense with Saquon Barkley
He’s a HC. Best head coach available on the market
So is McDaniel doing to coach Lamar Jackson to another MVP season?
Heads are rolling this year, good grief. Tua is next to go for this reset to really happen.
Mfer thought he was safe
Bring him to Philly
Lions or the Ravens would be the best locations for him
I'd kick someone's grandma if that's what it takes to get him coordinating Raiders offense
Selfishly praying he becomes OC at the Lions 🤞🏼
Mcdaniels comes back to san francisco
Panthers, please interview this man.
He will be going to the Ravens and Harbaugh will go to Miami
come to LA … work for Sean
Okay Titans, go get your man in Arthur Smith so we can replace with with McDaniel.
Coach Speak Index celebrating in the street rn
I really thought they'd give him one more year
Can we dream team in Atlanta and have him as oc and harbough as head coach lol?
Reaching for the stars aiming for the moon
if atlanta hires him, Bijan and Drake to the moon. I can only dream my sweet panthers get him at OC
Oh they will regret this when he goes to a team with a QB who can throw.
Raiders PLEASE I want Jeanty to become Achane
FINALLY wow, didn’t hit as hard as I thought it would
ARSB stocks 📈
We’ll always have the memes.
hed be a good fit in DC
He’s going to New York Giants!
