They have 21 winning seasons to the Falcons 17 in the last 60 years. But they only have 3 division titles to our 6. That’s tough when the Packers are always good. Even with the NFC South’s revolving door of sucky teams we only have 6.
Let this be a warning to MR and Blank and company. Hire a Kubiak type of coach!
Dan’s a DQ type of CEO coach and it was Ben Johnson that elevated the Lions the last few years.
Now he’s struggling to find a quality OC to replace Ben Johnson, who’s literally doing what Shanahan did to us when he left. Elevate a new franchise because your coach is the playcaller.
You don’t want to change the OC every few years because they’re either bad or great and leave to find a new job. Look at Philly.
Sustained success requires the playcaller as HC.
Look at Andy Reid, McVay, Shanahan, Sean Payton, etc.
I think Zac Robinson could be an "ok" OC with an experienced quarterback. HIs lack of experience balanced by a guy like Jared Goff could equal some success.
Goff is a great QB under center and out of play-action. If Zac will stfu about "how hard pistol is to defend", and do what's best for the QB, he could probably be successful.
I don’t understand the hate boner for Arthur Smith on this sub. He inherited a bad roster and bad cap situation. He went 7-10, 7-10, 7-10 with the ghost of Matt Ryan, Marcus Mariota, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke. I think if Arthur Smith was the head coach of this Falcons roster this year, we went 10-7 at worst.
Agreed. He came into a terrible situation. I don’t want him back by any means, as I think McDaniel or Kubiak are better offensive minds than Smith, but he was a step above Raheem and got the same results as Raheem with a significantly worse roster.
I dont wish this evil on the lions. I want the lions to win
Same they’ve been in the same boat as us (plus or minus a few winning seasons) since pretty much their inception. I wish them well.

I wish them all the best, but I cant see how someone can look at our play calling this year and think ‘yup, I want that’
Imagine going from Ben Johnson to Zac Robinson in two years. Jfc.
I remember when people tried to argue Arthur Smith didn’t benefit from nepotism
No, please don't go....
The lions are this decade's feel good story, they've been shit for so long. Either one of these moves turns them back into a steaming loaf.
Nooooo!! He is a Buccs coordinator, damnit!! Don’t you take this from us, Campbell!!

A “successful history” ? I guess.
What concerns me is that the narrative is gonna be that he failed in Atlanta because of the QBs and that he’s actually competent.

I like Detroit sports and Zac Robinson is Football Hitler so no
Yes as a Falcons and Lions fan this is a real kick in the nuts
Zac Robinson flying? I thought they don't allow pistols on airlines
I couldn't wish the pistol on anyone, even my worst enemy. good riddance to this guy
Arthur Smith honestly is a pretty decent OC, that Steelers roster was garbo
