I have a Roku TV and the TV has voice features, anytime my remote is lost I just say "hey Roku, find my remote" and the remote starts playing a chime. It even plays different sounds depending on which theme my TV has set up.
Not all remotes work with it. My newer Roku ultra in the BR has it and it work with the remote. The older ultra in the LR has the option in the settings, but the remote doesn’t have a beeper finder in it.
You have a newer Roku remote than me. I had to order a new remote (years ago). Until the new one came, I had to use the tablet remote. Needless to say when I moved 5 1/2 years ago, I found my old one within the couch. Now I have another one as a backup
You can download the Roku app on your phone and use it as a remote. I prefer using the app than the remote because the phone has a keyboard. Easier to use when entering passwords and searching for movies by title.
The problem is when someone ends up with it because they thought they were getting a deal on a used one, and got a hand me downgrade instead. My convenience shouldn't come at the cost of someone else's.
most returns end up at landfill or those pallet stores anyways. and if u buy a “used” and its clearly worse than u expected you can just return it. not a big deal. althought ive never purchased anything “used” that wasnt essentially new and im a fiend for those amazon warehouse deals.

But it's not "worse than you expected", it's an entirely different product. Also, again, my convenience should not come at the cost of your convenience. You shouldn't HAVE to return a product because I wanted the convenience of a free brand new remote.

Took me way too long to realise that wasn't a split picture. Wondering why you were showing off your shiny sticker collection
I too was remarkably confused by this photo.
I spent a long time trying to decipher how the middle 'button' could possibly mean 'find remote'
Lmao I didn't even notice those until you pointed it out. Now I can't unsee it looks like they're tracking the lunar cycle above their TV.
Same here.
I always thought there should be a paging system for remotes, like there is for cordless phones.
Press a button on the TV and your remote starts beeping.
Google tv streamer has this feature. You just press a button on the device and the remote pings till you press a button on the remote.
The cable decoder box I used to have from my local cable company had this feature years ago. Not sure why it isn’t standard on all TV’s.
Cost and use of IR blasters instead of RF for remotes.
Like we don’t have bluetooth remotes by now
I have this feature on my sky box, it’s amazing
I glued one of these Tile trackers on mine. Now not only I can page it from my phone, but also the other way around.
The newest Roku TV models have this. Not just the software option OP shows but a physical button on the side of the TV

Maybe find your old one and return the new one. Or if you like the new one put the old one in the box and just return that.
Please don't do that. Don't be that asshole.
We've been asking that from corporations and people with high networth but here we are.
"they do it, so it's okay that we do it."
Only way to effect change don't you think?
An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
When the world is blind, we will finally invest more in safer practices.
That must sound so insightful to you.
And you have your head under the sand.
TIL Telling people that stealing is wrong means I have my head in the sand.
small startup or mom and pop business? absolutely never. big corporate? i see no problem
