Those AI "roleplay" ads themselves are extremely infuriating. How absolutely insane do you have to be to see ads like this and think "Yeah! That's what I was waiting for ! I can roleplay with Misty from pokemon with no limits and infinite selfies!"
Seriously, I don't use AIs. Don't look up AI shit and this is 90% of the ads I see.
I clicked on this NSFW post to reveal the imagery hidden, curious to see what grass porn actually was. Now, only disappointment remains as I discovered my dyslexia had fooled me once again.
I've seen one posted on Reddit recently including an AI-generated image of a child character from Danganronpa - and specifically the one child character that (spoilers)is canonically a victim of sexual abuse - posed in some kinda foot fetish type shit, and it's absolutely wild that YouTube allows such content as ads while punishing YouTubers for swearing too much
They could also use Brave and use YouTube through it.
There is zero reason to cling to the YouTube app these days. With Brave I can play music with the screen dark. The app can't even do that basic function.
Don't know why you got down voted, it's what I use. Granted, you lose a little functionality that only the app offers, but I can live with that if it means blocking ads and tracking
i'm so glad that the top comments aren't filled with the usual "u just outed your own algo lol you only get shown what you search for" which is stupid on multiple levels.
even if you did search for this stuff, it doesn't mean it should be shown to you on SFW apps that aren't related to that.
"We have found that the ads do not break any advertising guidelines". This is what I used to always get when I reported all the Facebook scams. I just gave up in the end; let them suffer all the backlash for their lack of caring and effort.
As long as the advertisers pay and it isn’t against the law, YouTube will show it. And if anyone says: “But what about the children?”, they can just say that the children should be on YouTube Kids
I've blocked the same advertisement/advertiser multiple times, reported them on both the play store and in the YouTube report section, and then a couple hours later I get the same fucking ad I just blocked. I swear they're making multiple ads in different aspect ratios just to spam people with them.
They know about the age restriction being placed on certain websites so now I get the pornhub intro randomly blaring across my screen BEFORE they decide to tell me i "need" a VPN...
One saw a Bonnie Blue advert they classed as fashion, the description of the advert was literally about how she makes a bunchcof money through sexual content. Reported it and haven't seen it since but keep seeing other inappropriate ones
happens to me as well, but with even worse stuff, i get things like ai generated girls saying 'i would never generate your weird requests' and the text is in ph colours... genuinely annoying asf

Why should they? Their policy for YouTube is not for advertisers. It's just to attract advertisers.

To add to that, if you use Firefox, there are adblock extensions
Both have an extension that auto skips ads in the video the creator has ("this video is supported by raid shadow legends," for example)
I keep seeing ads for games where they butcher Pokémon at the start.
Cut off charizards wings, bulbasaurs head, slice up pikachu into steaks. Like wtf?

Regardless of them being based on history or not (which you can turn off, btw), they shouldn't be shown on an app like YouTube anyways.
