I've been involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses organization since I was little. I'm currently a pioneer, although I don't really believe much in their teachings anymore, and I think that's partly because they do many things that I don't believe are biblical. For example, supporting the circuit overseers—I understand the organization gives them money for their expenses, but they also ask all the congregations to give them food or money for their meals.
Recently, one of our elders told us that our overseer could give a talk at next year's Memorial, but that we had to give him about $300. Everyone else agreed, saying we should all chip in to cover the cost. But why the hell would we have to pay for something like that??? In biblical times, like in the first century, the apostle Paul was an overseer, and he worked to support himself. The Bible says he made his own tents and sold them. But Jehovah's Witnesses have people who are just kept on, and on top of that, we have to give them money? WTF???
And everyone says it's fine, that they're people who dedicate themselves to the congregations, but besides that, many of them have a terrible attitude.
I've shared this thought with brothers and sisters in my congregation, but they always tell me I'm an apostate.
Last visit we had to CLEAN the house the mf stayed at. Before and after his visit
They are treated like royalty when they are ordinary people 🫠
During Paul's time, was he worth billions? What is their money used for? Ask them even if they call you an apostate.
Some people upgrade to a newer car and when you ask them, they don't give you any details, they just say it was "a blessing from God" 🙄
Sometimes I wonder how the elders feel about that arrangement when they gotta act as the front lines for Watchtower, doing their dirty work, and they don’t get a dime like the Circuit Overseers do.
And even worse when they give their own money for the superintendent's expenses 🫤
Exactly! I mean, for an organization that brags about not petitioning for money, they shouldn’t even have any of their overseers or the GB paid anyways. But if they are, why aren’t elders getting compensated for their work, especially when they be dealing with Watchtower’s child abuse lawsuits.
They get to have some amount of respect from rank and file , some power and authority and they get to keep their family. Also soft shunning begins as soon as they step down.
But why apostatize? That's a very strong statement.
so asking a question = apostasy. that tracks.
maybe keep asking questions but look outside the org for answers?
Also why do they need to come every 6 months...honestly I am tired of their visit and the fake enthusiasm makes the entire congregation so tense....
Why don't the CO's work like normal people and cut the visit times to once a year. and come only for the weekend meeting (...psst.....@bethelspies please pass this onto the Research Department so that they can put this suggestion in the GB weekly meetings agenda)
Everyone’s legit tired after Co visit and the zoom attendance goes up after that at least temporarily.
Pioneer? Don't believe much in their teachings, just wondering do you actually pioneer preaching things you don't believe or do you fake it? What actually convinced me it's all fake is the pioneer during covid, counting time on zoom, listening to kingdom melodies While printing letters, to spam people mail boxes. So did you go to real pioneer or are you faking it. My sisters diehard pioneers, running all the time, gas station flyers or tract whatever you call it placing, running to their part time jobs, for what .one even had a traffic accident for running all the time
A pioneer apostate! Rare species. Drop off the list.
Bro i just building his credentials before going full time Apostate
lol
Wow you are still a pioneer but found yourself here with us filthy apostates and "don't believe much of their teachings anymore"? How do you find the inner fortitude to do that, I'm genuinely interested to know?
I like leading a double life 😅
Based on my experience working for a religious non-profit, COs are representatives who are full-time “volunteer/employee” so they get a stipend or utilize assets purchased by the non profit (i.e. a vehicle). The stipend is not enough to live on, so they rely on additional financial gifts and support through members of the religion. I recall part time COs who worked, and they too probably got some form of stipend.
The reason why it’s seems problematic is because the average JW isn’t sitting with the business side of the organization, or on board meetings to know all the ins and outs of running a religion.
Notice the difference: for a superintendent, the BORG can finance medical surgery, exams, and everything else funded by "the worldwide work."
But they forget about a congregation elder, who does even more than a superintendent. He has to work to support himself or his family, and also give donations and "care for the congregation." Is a superintendent worth more? Or do you just have a higher position in the organization?
God they are obsessed in labeling people as “apostates” for a simple question. Do you see the high control yet? That’s just the tip of the iceberg too. They ask for money for everything just don’t give yours. Simple.
Things are a changing...
