Profitec Move and Eureka Mignon Zero 65 Love the consistency, love the design, love the range on the grinder, love the ease of milk steaming. I don’t know why I waited so long!

  • I'm really tempted by the MOVE. How's it been so far?

Absolutely love it! I really like the modular portafilter spout bottoms and have been really impressed with back to back shot consistency. It gets back up to temp super quick after the first shot and I’ve even been able to hit 8 min with the fast heat up on mornings that aren’t so cold. I think there are other double boiler machines in a similar price range that would be just as good for someone at my skill level, but I went with the Move because I love the design and have heard good things about Profitec’s customers service. So far, it’s been a perfect fit!

  • I love the look of the Move! If it had a side water reservoir I’d be soo tempted.

I know, you’d think they all would learn by now. I will say, I stuck some wood flooring scratch prevention pads (normally used on the feet of furniture) on the back feet of the machine and it has made it super easy to lift the front feet and slide it forward when I need to fill the reservoir. It hasn’t had any impact to the machine moving when I lock in the portafilter or do any other standard workflow stuff.

  • Nice. Love my Eureka grinder. Enjoy the morning.

  • How has the move been compared to BBE. I’m currently considering upgrading my BBE as well. Worth it? Better shots? More consistent? Taste different?

Definitely more consistent, especially with back to back shots. I felt like I was going crazy dialing things in on the BBE, where a tiny micro adjustment would result in wildly different shot times and I’d be rubber banding back and forth. That probably has more to do with the shit grinder in the BBE. That being said, heat stability, milk steaming, and taste on anything lighter than a super dark roast have all been noticeably better with this machine! The only thing I would say is that my stock shower screen was causing a bit of uneven flow. I upgraded to the IMS screen and that plus a puck screen have solved everything on that front.

which ims screen did you use for the move?

My experience with the IMS showerscreen is that it's easier to wipe clean the front facing side but because of the fine mesh on the underside, it collects oils quicker and blocks up easier. Takes more regular backflushing. Because i use a puckscreen i found the stock one required less maintenance. The stock one with a puckscreen doesn't collect oils anywhere near as much as the IMS one, and using the puckscreen means any water distribution differences between the stock and IMS is a moot point.

I think it might be a worthwhile upgrade if a person doesn't use a puckscreen but it will oil up quicker. Overall i prefer the stock one but opinions may vary. It's a bit of 6 of one and half a dozen of the other thing.

  • Oh my word! You are my duality. I looked at the Move and the Lelit Elizabeth and went with Lelit.

What drove your decision on the Move?

I looked at so many machines in this range, including the Elizabeth and really the final decision came down to the design and fast heat up option. I was ok spending the extra money for the look I preferred, though I loved the classic look of the Elizabeth as well.

I think I preferred the look of the Move, but I didn't want to spring the extra cash. Mitigated the slow heat-up with a wifi switch that turns it on a while before I need it, though I can definitely see the motivation there.

    Great pick-up!

  • Just got the exact same setup. Loving them both.

  • Wow great setup

  • Does the coffee taste better?

Absolutely, though I’d argue the grinder is driving the bulk of that. The move has been a big improvement in accurate and consistent brew temp, milk steaming when I do cappuccinos, and allowing for pre-infusion control (though I’ve only explored the latter a bit since I got it. Looking to dive down that rabbit hole soon)

  • Perfect set up nice

  • Nice machine.

  • God damn, amazing perfect setup!! 🔥

  • If you steam milk, how long would you say it takes, roughly?

Haven’t timed it but probably like 20 seconds for 8 punces. Steam set to 260F.

  • Congrats on the upgrade! Sounds like a dream setup consistency and ease of use make such a huge difference, and those grinders are gorgeous too.

  • Nice upgrade! That’s a serious step up from the Barista Express.

  • been thinking of getting one.. maybe an indepth review?

Maybe! I’d like a few more weeks with it before making any final reviews (especially since so many of the machines seem to have manufacturing flaws, fingers crossed mine will be fine)

  • my friends been bugging me to get one.. im convinced 😌😌

  • Beautiful upgrade! 🔥 That Profitec + Eureka combo is a huge step up clean design, serious consistency, and that grinder range is a game changer. Enjoy the espresso glow-up! ☕✨
