    In many other languages, the cognate of "control" means "to check", "to verify". Easy mistake to make in both directions.

    Oh man, who remembers the horrible English on the Bojrum Airline ticket, with stuff like the reasons a flight may be cancelled being such as "Float, fire, NOTAMS, war, gone of electricity, etc." and that anyone who "got ticket by doing tricky" was not allowed to fly?
