It started around a year ago and happened once, it went away for a year but came back last week. Last week, it happened for two days and I was happy again until it came back. Now it keeps coming and going in two day intervals. I don't know what the problem is but I'm seriously considering a tenotomy. It's driving me insane.
Hi friend, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Have you been able to identify any triggers? Like stress, TMJ, or certain foods? For a lot of people, anxiety/stress show up in physical forms like this. I take it as the body's way of telling you you are in need of some self care
I'm usually calm before it starts, I become dtressed after.
Are you able to avoid being calm?
I don't think this is a good idea. LOL
Do you have a sinus infection?
I don't think so
Gotcha. I'm 44. Starting a couple years ago every time I get a sinus infection or extreme sinus pressure my tensors will randomly rumble kinda like an eye twitch but in my rumbles instead
I have TTS as well - got diagnosed with pulsatile tinnitus but it's 100% the muscle uncontrollably "thumping." For 7 years now. I got an MRI and everything looked fine. Seemingly no trigger for why it varies in severity but I can go days without it or have it so bad it used to drive me nuts. (It still does, but I got way better with coping w/ the frustration.) Typical acute triggers include being in a quiet room and laying down. Anxiety and loud noises could be a trigger of yours but are not mine at all. I'd suggest going to an ENT if you can afford it, they can examine you and hopefully get an MRI done to make sure it's not something harmful.
etd too and this is maddening. they told me never cut it there are three muscles involved and risks rarely ever only one. and usually etd is responsible. it’s like chronic etd
