• Most people experience a rumble when they yawn, maybe use that as a reference point.

  • it's like humming but using your ear bones

Reading this made me hum while rumbling. Truly a bizarre experience

This made me rumble hum Beethoven’s 9th. It was fun!

  • This sub’s description pretty much nails it.

nobody knows what those words mean

“It’s a muscle. In your ear. That some people can flex.”

the side bar says "A subreddit for those who can control their Tensor Tympani muscle."

are you using a different version of reddit? I know about the "old" layout but stopped using it

“It’s a muscle. In your ear. That some people can flex.” is what you can say to other people who don’t know what any of those words mean.

  • Are you Eren Yeager?

  • You don't. They don't need to know anyways. What good will it do for them anyways? Huh? We have powers no mortal can comprehend. So don't waste your time trying.

  • “Unfortunately, on one can be told what rumbling is… you must experience it for yourself.” —Morpheus

  • My rumbling sound can be heard from other people if they put their ear near my ears. Maybe you should do the same.

  • I just found this subreddit. I've been rumbling since I was a toddler. I just did it because I could and I never even considered trying to ask anyone else if they could till I was around my 20s. Then when I did I got confused responses from everyone.

I just recently found out that others could do it too. When the link popped up in another reddit and I saw the words "earrumblers" I instantly knew what that meant. It 's kinda crazy having this ability. I know it the end its nothing crazy special but it is kinda rare. Glad there's small little community online that can relate with it.

Anyone here ever rumble at a loud concert?

  • Discovered I could do this as a child and avoided doing it for more than 20 years because I was afraid I could induce an aneurysm or something. Finding out it's harmless (in moderation) was such a relief!
