It’s too cold, snowy roads are slippery, and people still don’t tip, what goes through these people’s minds when they order? Are they naive? Someone is literally out in the cold weather and you still can’t afford a little… all I have been seeing on this app is low tips insulting offers… smh

Yeahhhh I went out in a blizzard like 2 months ago. I thought it was going to be a gold mine but no one was ordering and the ones who did didn’t care . I made like 30 bucks in 2 and a half hours. Terrible .
Cheap people it sucks
Holy heck, where is it -10?
Yeah, stay home
This is definitely Celsius, but that’s still cold af!
Go home!! Be safe. Not worth it
Best to just stay indoors anyway when the weather is like that. Just take the night off and try again when conditions are better
I was under the impression that people will be generous in this kind of weather, but the offers have all been insulting
I find it usually goes the opposite
For what it’s worth, no one really thinks about the weather when they order. They just want food
Yeah I agree, but common sense is look out the window and see the big pile of snow on the roads.. it’s like these people are living in their own world
Yeah I get it, I delivered in shitty weather hoping for generosity too but it just doesn’t make much of a difference. Just stay inside and be comfy and go out there again when its clear
Yeah if that’s the case just take it as a learning experience and when it’s like that out just stay home.
It doesn’t snow where I’m at but we just had a random storm with flooding a few weeks ago and I decided to test it out. It was a gold mine and people were tipping well. I had to call it quits only because the rain just wasn’t letting up and those dammed paper grocery bags kept ripping on me so it got too frustrating to deal with 😭🤣
My husband got stuck in a quick snowstorm coming back from a trip last year. It took him 30 minutes to go like three miles. I booked him a hotel room and then ordered DoorDash but left a $25 tip on a subway order that was half a mile away. He had time to put down his bag before I got the notification that his food was delivered. I wouldn’t personally drive in the snow because I don’t know how but I was so thankful someone got him food.
You’re one of the rare ones! I got to work tonight in a snowstorm , i would say 90% didn’t tip and these people have the audacity to ask for me to go up a building to drop it at their door
Someone went out to pick my husband up food. When road conditions were dangerous. When bad drivers were out. I totally felt bad about only giving them $25 too. Most people honestly suck.
Stingy ahh ppl, just stay home it’s not worth the risk
Sorry but even if peak pay was $10 I wouldn't dash in that weather. Even if YOU drive perfectly that doesn't mean others will. Your chance at an accident increases exponentially which far outweighs any peak pay.
Peak pay is a dollar can you imagine? You’re right.. it’s not worth it anymore plus most customers clearly don’t even appreciate it.. it seems
It was up to 7 last big snow storm here mid December. Did like 2 orders came back home. Not worth the hassle.
Yeah you’re right. I was driving so slow, witnessed some accidents on the road so I had to call it a night
In my area, it's usually a gold mine unless it's happening more than one day. But I started equipping myself for various weathers. I keep a jacket for cold and a rain jacket, boots, and for the really bad rain; rain boots and an umbrella to keep the order dry as possible
I reckon the customers who are considerate don't want anyone driving in those conditions just to bring them food
Holy shitballs I'm crying for you right now. From Miami. 😎
Years of living in a place with crazy snow storms i learned that most people wouldn't order during a snow storm because they don't want to put someone in that situation to bring them some taco's.
The people that are left are the ones that don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves. and those people are usally the ones who tip like shit, if at all.
The only reason to work a snow storm is if the bonus is huge like 7+ an order or 14+ EBT. Then you can milk every order for huge profits.
Of course, at some point it ends up taking you way to long to actually deliver each order so the extra money ends up being normal per hour pay and you are in a much higher risk of getting in a accident.
Now yes i know you could end up doing very well and get some nice tips but these are my results after doing it.
Last snowstorm i drove through and it hit 34.75 an hour.
Now they just close the market and shut down orders anytime it gets really high.

Understandable, and what market are you in? That top up is crazy, it must get really messy where you’re at
Some of them think the “delivery fee” goes to the drive (and why wouldnt they? it’s a purposely misleading term), others are selfish assholes.
