Steve Hofstetter reposted something by himself, Steve Hofstetter, and got called out for reposting "some random influencer's post" ... on r/stevehofstetter . At least now the guy knows this Steve Hofstetter guy follows Steve Hofstetter, because now he's paying attention.

This feels like ragebait but I’ve encountered too many aggressively ignorant people on reddit to say for sure
who the fuck r u caling dum?
Yes
I already did!
Whom'
Whom'st
Same. I start out a lot of comments with “in case you’re not trolling…”
He's a comedian known for taking a heckling with grace, so part of me wants to know if they were taking the piss
The person Steve is talking to is obviously not very smart
Certainly not burdened with an overabundance of schooling.
Unencumbered by the thought process, as Click and Clack used to say.
Incredible. Haven’t thought of them in a while.
"Don't drive like my brother!"
I'm thinkin' you're one of them independents
Anyone who picks a verbal fight with Steve Hofstetter is indeed not very smart or has a humiliation fetish.
I just saw this on his page. Glad you actually reposted it.
Who is Steve Hofstetter
Comedian who is good at dealing with hecklers.
That's an understatement.
At this point, his back and forths with hecklers have become more popular than his actual stand-up
Which is a tad unfortunate because really it just incentivizes more people to do it for the attention.
But dude is an absolute masterclass in quickly firing back at assholes.
His content is only hecklers or cringe politics. He fell fast
You are right. These people obviously don't follow comedy lol
He has opened a foundation for the arts in Pittsburgh as well as a new comedy venue in Pittsburgh with plans to continue to expand.
He also has like 4 or 5 free specials on YouTube along with regular clips being posted.
Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about.
Yes, a bunch of really bad specials does not make him good at comedy. How much you post is not how you measure a comedian lmao
Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about.
So how you liking Callen's new special from the smothership?
Lmao no
He would be literally nothing without his hecklers. He should show gratitude from time to time.
Lmfao. Snowflake
Literally. All he has is his virtue signaling and hecklers
He has some really good comedy. But is is mostly at your expense so I can see how it might not appeal to the more red hatted amongst us
Lmao. Show me on the doll where he hurt you?
Excuse me sir, I think you mean who r/SteveHofstetter
Did you mean to do a user link instead of a sub reddit link. Have to use /u/ for that
It’s a joke based on ‘r’ and “are” being pronounced alike.
Huh. I guess some would find thay funny.
A terribly unfunny comedian who couldn't get anywhere with his comedy, so he became a virtue signaling white knight grifter. Before anyone tries to imply I'm "maga" because I don't like this clown...no, quite the opposite.
union busting loser
source?
He doesn't have one. Steve is VERY openly leftist.
Is that true?
I think you mean who r/SteveHofstetter
That sub is more aggressively political than I expected. Fair enough using one's platform for activism
Tbf he's aggressively political in his shows too - to the misfortune of many a heckler
He's a political comedian. Very overtly so.
How dare that political comedian be so checks notes political!
So "OP" and "the real Steve Hofstetter" weren't enough clues? 😂
Dude is illiterate
Serious question, what sub did he think he was in? Without looking at the sub name I would still assume that the sub follows, oh idk, the guy who posts the most and is in most of the other posts… he loves the poorly educated
For some reason, that post showed up on my feed yesterday. I saw this exchange and still had no fuckin clue who the guy was. It got a weird boost from the algorithm for some reason
He said he didn't look, so he didn't know what subreddit he was in.
It's not that uncommon that people just look at headlines without looking at which subreddit it was posted in. Similar to people who don't read linked articles. They just see a topic and start talking about it without looking for context.
Would have
I just saw it, immediately came here to see if this was posted yet lol
That realization must have hit like a brick
I'm laughing 🤣🤣 why? Because the ad that shows between the post and the comments(for me at least) starts off with "aware super".
Silly I know but 🤷
To be faaair, that guy is white knight social justice warrior. He could never get a name for his "comedy" so he became a virtue signaling asshat lol. Dude has no respect from any comedians, either side of the aisle. Also, he replied to me saying he sucks just a few weeks ago like I cared that he would see it lmao....STEVE HOFSTETTER IS A GRIFTER
meh. mileage will vary on what is funny, and what we think people's motivations are. not really the point of this particular post...
personally, i find him funny (15 years ago, and now) and insightful (not every comedian tells yuk yuk jokes), have seen plenty of material having little to do with social justice or heckling, know Cliff Cash (as one example) respects him, and, having met him in person after a show, think he very much cares for the people you might think he's "social justicing" for. I'll give you, however, that he's known for social commentary and hecklers - that's controversy that our society unfortunately gravitates to - it gets clicks and is, like it or not, part of modern promotion.
obviously your mileage varies... but so does other people's from yours. either way, viva le difference!
Please explain virtue signaling and how that fits him. He performed in a dress when the Republicans were going after drag queens. He started an arts foundation in Pittsburgh to help struggling comedians with lodging on the road studio space for recording, etc. he started his own comedy venue as well.
Agreed. He's hustling, no doubt, but there is a lot of great hustle for good reasons. There's a lot of active voice, and for good reason, imho. I don't see the virtue signaling.
I still don’t know who that is
It’s normal not to know everyone, but it is kind of weird to go out of your way to announce it I guess?
Tbf the OP doesn't explain
The context alone is sufficient. A group is named after a person and a user with that name is involved.
That’s all that’s required.
A comedian who is 1000 times better at self-promotion than comedy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's on both sides of the conversation.
I think he also bought followers back in the day. I just ended up one of his followers, and I had never even heard of him.
i dont think thats how that works...but I could be wrong
That dude is a talentless hack
