Released the D-IBAN protocol for #Dogecoin to convert a Doge Address to a IBAN and I added new fun options to convert to Emojis and also to Doge Words, Positive Words ๐

OK, thatโs pretty cool I guess.
Butโฆ
Why? What do we gain that we actually need?
Gain .... probably nothing Fun ... definitely ๐
Fun to see your Dogecoin address ๐ DPuzB4xdGXKNkuJPMgGvNrMREuvjqAZGLT
Hope I copied correctly from the emoji ๐
Fun is always good. ๐๐
Just so weโre clear, I just grabbed that random address from coinb.in. But yeah, you got it right.
Hmmmโฆ could you do this with keys too? Steganography would be a cool way to โhideโ wallets in plain sight, no?
In ~2022 I did a project using steganography ๐ https://dogeseeds.com/nft-lock/
Was a way to sign images with a Dogecoin address in it and I wanted to do o the Dogecoin Wallet Client on the Signature, also the same for any digital file, signing it using the Dogecoin private key.
Would be easy enough to do that with a wallet ๐
Give me 1 day , it's 22h (10pm) here now ๐
sleep mode ๐ have to wake up early to get my kids to school ๐
๐
Added Steganographyย to the code on https://github.com/qlpqlp/D-IBAN
Demo on https://qlpqlp.github.io/D-IBAN/ :)
Small issue with this.
I tested it on a screenshot of the page itself.
Saved the file, but couldnโt find it (on an iPad). Not in photo library, not in files. So I viewed the image and saved to photos.
The decoded file ends in 2dcE instead of 2dcB.
Given that the intent is to hide keys, not addresses, Iโd say this needs resolving. Also, for testing, it would be good if links opened in a new tab so as not to lose the work in progress.
thanks for finding it ๐ will solve it in my morning ๐ also will add a way to encode a private key and optional decode it with a Pin Code to be safer ๐
Now youโre talking like a screen door salesman.
โSaferโ???
How so? In order to steal your coins, a bad guy would first of all have to know there was anything TO steal. Itโs not like my mate who had his car, tools, and parts for his car and mine knocked off overnight.
Then he would have to know there was a wallet encoded into a picture. And then WHICH picture. And heโd need access to said piccy. Iโd say if he got that far, heโd already have access to all manner of stuff stored alongside.
I donโt see this as preventing any losses. I do see people forgetting their PIN though, and with no way to reset it, theyโd be locked out just like they are with encoded/password protected clients.
Sometimes you just have to assume babies arenโt going to be playing with machine guns rather than putting childproof locks on them. ๐
I'm a little paranoid about cyber security ๐ but yes, you are right about the Pin. Hidding the private key in plain sight will be safe enough for most ๐
