For our first Monthly Spotlight on creators outside the realm of video production we would like to showcase the work of Jonrev, who spent time with the Lakeforest Mall in its final moments. Jonrev has long heralded the story of America's Dead Malls with a body of incredible work that predates anything that happened on youtube. Make sure to follow his work here: https://www.jonrev.com and to check out his merch that is currently running a sale through tonight on https://ko-fi.com/jonrev/shop
If you would like to be considered for the monthly spotlight, please send a sample of your work to the mods.

His videos, way back in the day, are what started my interest in dead malls. Cool guy, glad to see his work shared here.
Nice work, Jonrev. The eery stillness you captured is frightening in itself. Then we have the ominous green glow of the plutonium powered elevator. Just awesome.
Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
Again, a strange affirmation of our facination with liminal space. I think this person put it well:
“Liminal spaces, they evoke this sense of suspended time. They’re not just eerie or dreamlike. They reflect a world on the cusp of fading. Liminal spaces capture a tension between memory, possibility and loss. These are spaces like empty school hallways after hours, shopping malls in decline, dimly lit office corridors, vacant arcades, and hotels with endless carpeted hallways. They’re not designed to be destinations. They’re passages, places you pass through on the way to somewhere else. Yet, when frozen in time, devoid of people, they feel strangely sacred. They become vessels for projection, a template for what once was and what could have been. “
“The collective memory seeps into our own experience and we feel haunted by the absence of life that should be there.”
