No "Less bugs", "More optimization", what do you wish was introduced? More elaborate melee fights? (Chivalry 2-style, or other), more cars? more elaborate car damage, and if so how realistic? More like GTA 5 or beamng? An ability to "protect" your loot when you're not playing? Let me know

    What about advanced gore? Think of limb dismemberment. Would you be rather appreciative of this or nah? If so, would you prefer (realistic) bleeding and HP loss if limb was lost, or the limb falling on the ground, inability to use twohanded items and no bleeding (arcade-ish)?

    I think detailed gore is just unnecessary.

    Where losing limbs, should be a considerable factor still. Makes certain risks, really questionable

    You could do this, once upon a time.

    There’s a mod for this. IntenZ has a “drag body” option for instance.

    For the disagreements, moving a body you killed into cover to loot or your teammate to revive.

  • I’d like to combine food ingredients to make enhanced food items that condense inventory and have added nutrition, like combining chicken with mushrooms, or you know… preparing rice.

    Prepping rice would take up more inventory space. Cooking chicken and mushrooms would take up less.

    I like that idea too. Something like having full bag of rice and water in the cooking pot yields 12 slots of rice when prepared. I don’t think we should be crunching it down as we have been.

  • The absolute most needed thing in dayz is fortifying. Planks on windows. Boarding up doors. Being able to play as a solo and not have to build a box in the woods would be sick. It would feel infinitely more immersive if the base building was centered around fortifying. Every building is open. The opportunity is right there.

  • I call it the Improvised Ashwood Bow. Check this out. You take a long stick, combine with a rope to craft the bow. You can craft arrows out of short sticks and upgrade those with chicken feather fletching and bone tips.

  • This game desperately needs hunting equipment! Imagine they added deer calls, and hunting stands and blinds, and scent sprays etc to the game, to make hunting more intuitive and immersive.

    I love hunting in this game, but it would be cool if they added some equipment to make luring game to your position possible. Listening for deer and following the sound works fine and all, but it would be cool if you could hear a deer, spray some doe urine on yourself, use a doe bleat call, and have the bucks start heading towards your location. Making calls and wearing scents in hunting areas could even offer a slight possibility of spawning game, if there isn't any spawned yet. Hunting camps could have so much more cool loot to offer. And hunting could get so much more in depth.

    Not to mention, people would have to listen closely to deer calls to determine whether they're hearing a deer, or a hunter nearby. It would change the entire dynamic. Running towards deer sounds could become dangerous. Other hunters could hear deer calls made by hunters, mistake them for deer, and start calling and tracking each other, thinking they're about to find supper, when in fact they're tracking a potential gunfight.. Could be pretty epic.

    Bicycle is a great shout. Would require maintenance but also relatively simplistic - tyres, oil, chain.

    Would you like it to be more immersive (like, more cinematic) with 1 player just handing out the item and second player can pick it up, or make it functional feature, like a menu, that'd allow 2 players to trade, with animation of them handing the items to each other after both sides accept the deal?

  • I wish they'd get rid of the wolves and replace them with bot bandit groups of, say, 5 dudes that travel from dynamic spot to dynamic spot. They have gear or possibly a car if you kill them, but they are hard. Or you lay low and let them pass. They'd be like helicopter crashes that you fight. The wolves just annoy me and waste ammo. It's also not realistic to get attacked by three packs a day if your traveling alot.

    Ive been watching playZ streams and the gunplay mod looks like itd be a good addition to the base game, as does more indepth medical stuff. The issue is they dont want to deter new players when it's already a steep learning curve. Perhaps an option for server owners to choose a hardcore mode.

    Id like a skill system, or where your character improves at something the longer theyre alive like stamina for example.

    I think I heard some people say such a skill system was in the game but it didn’t really work or hasn’t changed anything so they got rid of it, but I may be misremembering

  • I'd like some sort of tranquillizer dart that could knock someone out in 10 seconds from far away. You could counter it with a epinephrine pen.

    I'd also like to be able to boost another player over a wall or up on a roof. Just make barbed wire more deadly so if you boost over a wall with wire you get 5 cuts or you get stuck.

    And being able to reinforce a house would be one of the best. Instead of adding a huge wooden gate, you could just reinforce the existing doors and windows.

    What are your examples how pre-existing doors could be reinforced (excluding mines, and explosives)?

    Unlike water tho the juice would spoil after a while so this would stop you from hoarding a jerrycan full o’ juice. More such recipes could make farming a more attractive way of wilderness survival

    Boots and gloves ruin WAAAAY too quickly. There are gloves and boots that are in my family that have been passed down since my great grandfather. Boots and gloves last fine IRL, they should last longer in DayZ.

    Shirts and coats, not just singular torso slot.

    cooking pots also ruin way too quickly . i can maybe see wearing out a cheap pair of shoes or a shitty pan. but like a solid frying pan or pot? good pair of boots? that should last years minimum , a century if you take care of it

  • I think footprints in mud/snow. Also to see ‘garbage’ or where someone consumes food, maybe you have to burn it? Dayz is an incredibly detailed game but the main way to find where players are or to hide from players is just focused on zombie aggro and smoke from fires.

    Especially when playing on cold maps like hardcore.winter.Chernarus:

    • We should be able to run around with low/medium insulated clothes and still be plenty warm.
    • Drinking a full bottle of cold water should make us dangerously cold. Warming it up on a stove before drinking should heat us up much faster than just standing by the fire.
    • It should matter if we close the door when making a fire inside a house.

    Running uphill should make us warm and then wet, versus downhill that should be like it is today.

    Some of these are low hanging fruits, at least.

  • Definitely make the infected more of a threat. Maybe add a horde mechanic. Like if you’re in a firefight and making a shit ton of noise you need to move away from the area quickly. Or just make the hordes a dynamic event instead of the dynamic gas zones that add nothing to the game lol. Also definitely having helicopters in the base game

    Even if they could just slowly climb stuff

    As it is now the only threat of zombies il alerting your position to other players

  • Player zombies, allying with zombies, wandering hordes like in state of decay 2 or a rare zombie that can open doors, ai survivors/cannibals, hell… even a rare item that cures infected then becoming ai survivors/allies keeping towns safer until they’re killed

  • Remove base building and add barricading for buildings, I mean actually nailing boards across doors and whatnot, more layers for clothes, horses, bikes, power tools for rading, more unique locations for looting and exploring, scattered lore dumb stuff like notes and what not some of which can be used for finding loot

  • A big thing I’ve always wanted is a more intractable map. Like being able to direct power to a village or something via the hydro dam.

    Or for something small, infected hunting animals or drinking at creeks or rivers.

  • Livestock farming. Cows for dairy products + manure for fertiliser. Sheep for wool = crafting clothing. Pigs for bacon. Chickens for eggs and feathers.

    You would need to find the equipment to process the resources and build the pens etc.

    1. Fix dual tire glitch that renders bases useless for starters , 2. Patch skywalking and duping 3. Combat lag switching - fix this then and only then can improvements be entertained - ie written notes , spray paint ( aesthetics and claim territory), base building advancements such as window and door blockades and to really push things ahead …. Add one survivor bot per map with good loot - would be fun finding and identifying them

    What would be example window/door blockades? Just planks nailed over the windows or other blockades too? Would there be variety to choose from?
