I usually find a low pop server, or a PVP/PVE community server to operate on. Best game I played once was i found a large group on a community server that loved playing but not the hunting. They still needed to eat, so I offered to hunt for everyone so they could focus on pvp and looting, in exchange for storage space to drop my excess gear at. I had a whole cooking station set up, fire barrels, camp tripod, I was like the camp cook.
Not scared. Just don't have the time to have the loot n die loop. And I do like to find people, talk a bit maybe hunt with em. People make games more fun imo
I could be wrong, but I thought the local server code is available for free from Steam. Start an instance locally… private server, no one to bother you.
While this is a very fun way to play DayZ, I would suggest actually trying a hunting game. Way of the Hunter is really cool, has massively huge maps, vehicles, a lodge to decorate and some awesome bullet physics and great firearm selection. It doesn't have the survival aspects of DayZ, no cooking or any character management outside of health (you can get injured by animals or falling) but if you really like the wandering in the woods, sightseeing and hunting as a DayZ player, I find it very fun and relaxing. Render distance is nuts and animals can be spotted out to ~600mm, plus the graphics are a bit more advanced that DayZ, although I do admit, Chernarus still has a quality to it that nothing else quite matches.

It was. Ive found a couple community serves i chill on, one theres a clear PVP/PVE line so I know im good to hunt/fish and chill in places.

That sounds awesome. I'd totally be a camp cook for a big group. The survival and hunting aspects are a lot of fun.
I teach it irl 😆 well, used to. Been out of business for a bit, broke my back and that makes it hard to hike up a mountain and teach.
They are called PvE servers (player vs environment). Search using that term.

Afterdayz jurrasic isle is great for hunting - all animals are Dinos. Pve and PvP zones.
