Up north 8 hours in on Deep Isle, just looting and hear footsteps hold the angle see the guy run into the room, has the M16 on burst and 1 bullet "click" "click" nowhere to run and got pistoled to death... Go again I suppose rough death.....
I'm new to the game and had this happen to me. Mucked up trying someone that was looting a heli. So I ran up in the tower next to the crash and was waiting to see if they would follow. Well they did and my gun jammed. Had all day to smoke him and click click click. He turned to run in fear and heard the click. Turned around and smoked me 😂😂😂
Fair enough not to be nitpicky but the newest model doesn't necessarily mean the best for example when the ak12 was originally adopted by the Russian federation it was considered the "newest" version of the ak74 platform but a standard ak74m outclassed it in nearly every area. Again not trying to nitpick but merely give some perspective.
not even tbh just the M16, the M16A1 later in Vietnam was more reliable, not greatness but was improved, it was also forgot where i got this from, but it was an issue with the ammo. As a regular shooter i can say ammo is a big thing with shooting, more than the gun itself tbh most the time.
Was one dude with an SKS, got the drop on my two buddies. Knocked them both when they were trading gear in a house. I rounded on him, and my first shot hit right in the chest. Id of had the fucker if it didnt jam.
Gun cleaning kit. It will restore a gun to worn. A damaged one will jam A Lot. A badly damaged M16 without a gun cleaning kit is a paperweight. Might as well be ruined.
This is exactly why I can’t stop playing this game.

Make sure to always, if possible, have a backup ready to go. Just switch to that. Jams with worn gear is rare but does happen.
Had a similar story, I have to not play for a while and remember why this game pisses me off.

You are talking about the M16A1 the M16A2 solved virtually all of those shortcomings
That makes sense, newer model is better. In the interviews they just said “m16” so that’s what I was going off of

Ah yeah worn gun & worn mag 1st bullet x/19 in a 20 round mag... Understand if I had it on auto and went through 15-50 bullets...
I was firing a Tommy gun in Poland and guy said not to burst fire as it would jam, just let it all roll out ... Kid you not, it didn't jam.
Had that happen once to me with a worn scorpion. One bullet, click! My group got wiped.
To be fair, it was probably gonna get wiped anyway if a scorpion would have made the difference
