Hi all,

Got kicked from EVERY DayZ server (official/community) after 5-10 min with **Warning (0x000400F0) BattlEye: Client not responding**.

Started **immediately after quick switch between 2 legitimate Steam accounts** (both own purchased DayZ copies) on same PC. Worked fine before.

Tried **everything** (multiple times):

- Full Windows reinstall (C: formatted) + fresh Steam (1 account only)

- DayZ/BattlEye full reinstall (Uninstall_BE.bat + delete folders)

- Steam Cloud purge + userdata clean + power cycle 48h+

- Admin mode, IPv6 off, firewall off, wired/VPN test

- New character, verify files, DZSA Launcher

Clean .rpt logs: https://feedback.bistudio.com/T196676 (Geez reviewed, sent to BE support - no reply yet).

Suspect BE backend session conflict (same HWID/IP, different SteamIDs).

Anyone had this after account switch? BE fix it? Thanks!

  • PinSuspicious6314, it sounds like you are getting an admin kick for using a VPN. BattlEye is not the cause of it, that's just the message prefix.

Some, not all, community servers use admin tools like BattleMetrics or Omega/CFTools that allow them to kick players who use VPN(since cheaters tend to use VPN).

Those tools use a service that maintains a database of known VPN IP ranges. In particular, Omega/CFtools uses GetIPIntel. You either need to get your IP fixed/whitelisted with the service (doubtful), fixed/changed with your ISP (maybe) or whitelisted on the individual server (possible).

Visit IPLocation.net. Does it show your expected IP address? Try a site like WhatIsMyProxy or IPQualityScore. Do either of those show you are using a VPN? When contacting your ISP, first make note of the server IP that's kicking you.

VPN is not used, problems started:

after switching between two Steam accounts

    BattlEye: Client not responding 0x000400F0

Nothing helped — the kick still happens after - 10 minutes on every server.

no immediate kick, game starts normally but then disconnects.

I strongly suspect this is related to a backend session conflict / low-trust state in BattlEye caused by the quick Steam account switch (same HWID/IP but different SteamIDs in a short time).

It is not a ban, as I follow all the rules and have two legitimate copies of the game

Completely clean reinstall of Windows (full format of C: drive)

Fresh installation of Steam (only one account now)

Full reinstall of DayZ (including deleting leftover folders in Documents\DayZ, %localappdata%\DayZ, %appdata%\DayZ)

Complete removal and reinstall of BattlEye (Uninstall_BattlEye.bat + deleting BattlEye folders in game directory, C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye, etc.)

Verify integrity of game files in Steam

Running DayZ_BE.exe, DayZ_x64.exe and Steam as administrator

Disabling Steam Cloud for DayZ + deleting all local and cloud files (including userdata[SteamID]\221100) + forcing sync with new empty local files

Power cycle PC (turned off and unplugged from power for 24 hours)

Wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, router restart, updated network drivers

Disabled firewall/antivirus temporarily, added exceptions for DayZ/BattlEye

Tried different servers (official low-pop, community)

  • Thank you very much for your answer.

    Tried **everything** (several times):

    - Full reinstall of Windows (formatted C:) + fresh Steam (only 1 account)

    - Full reinstall of DayZ/BattlEye (Uninstall_BE.bat + deleting folders)

    - Steam cloud cleaning + user data cleaning + power off and on for 48 hours+

    - Administrator mode, IPv6 disabled, firewall disabled, wired internet / no VPN

    - New character, file check, DZSA Launcher

I suspect a conflict of BE backend sessions (same HWID/IP, different SteamIDs).

Because it is a very rare and annoying situation. Two completely legal copies of the game DayZ and now I can only play 10 minutes in each then kick, and I have to go into the game again.

I'm most interested in when users contacted BattlEye in similar situations, and did BattlEye fix it or just ignore it?

    Thanks

-> check your router/modem for fimrware updates and install them.

-> install wireshark on your PC and log all traffic from your PC to the WAN. Use filters to narrow down the time when a disconnect / kick happens and see what is going on with protocols and packets during this timestamp.

  • If these all fail, maybe try installing Windows + Steam + DayZ in a VM and run it from there to exclude some HWID related issues.

It seems to me that using VM for BattleEye and DayZ is not very good.

If you run a Windows VM for testing purposes, what do you lose?

At the moment you can't run the game at all.

Thank you, I'm just afraid that BattleEye will ban me at all for using DayZ on a VM

But thank you very much for the advice. Maybe you are right.

Until I get a response from BattleEye support, it's worth trying something.

  • Dude. I am likely included in those previous threads that person linked. I suffered with this issue all of 1.28, until just two weeks ago when I finally solved it. Out of what felt like hundreds of things I tried… this is what fixed it for me: Disabling the NIC offloading + power features on my Ethernet adapter. Steps:

    Device Manager → Network adapters

Right-click on your adapter → Properties → Advanced

    Disable ALL of the following

    Packet / Offload features • Interrupt Moderation → Disabled • Interrupt Moderation Rate → Off (if present) • Large Send Offload v2 (IPv4) → Disabled • Large Send Offload v2 (IPv6) → Disabled • IPv4 Checksum Offload → Disabled • TCP Checksum Offload (IPv4) → Disabled • TCP Checksum Offload (IPv6) → Disabled • UDP Checksum Offload (IPv4) → Disabled • UDP Checksum Offload (IPv6) → Disabled

Power / link features • Energy Efficient Ethernet → Disabled • Green Ethernet → Disabled (if present) • Flow Control → Disabled

    • Speed & Duplex → 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex

Reboot PC. Restart required for NIC changes. I hope this helps you, bro. I could barely play at all, community or official. I haven’t had a single kick in weeks. I even changed my ISP per BattlEye’s rec, and that didn’t work either.

Thank You very much for Your Reply and advice, but in my case these changes (as well as any other local - client changes) did not help.

The same every 10 minutes - BattlEye: Client not responding 0x000400F0

The problem started after I switched to another account on one computer, where the DayZ game was also purchased.

On one computer: 2 Steam accounts, 2 legal DayZ games, but BattleEye created a problem.

    The following was done:

-full formatting of the C drive,

    -new installation of Windows,

-new installation of Steam and the game.

The problem is not client-side, but 100% of the BattleEye server

*** The only way is for Bohemia/BE to manually reset the session or backend token ***

That's why I'm asking if BattleEye has responded to anyone's request?

Damn I’m sorry man. I was hoping that would work. I ended up trying everything under the sun like you did, with no result. Until that solution. BattlEye and I had many messages back and forth in which they basically just blamed me and my network connection. They didn’t really offer and help that I couldn’t just find on a forum.

Thank You Bro for Your support. It's a shame that BattlEye hasn't been able to help You for so long.

Fortunately, my case has already been forwarded directly to BattlEye by Bistudio, and I hope BattlEye won't take too long with the session reset.

Issue 100% backend (HWID conflict from two Steam accounts switch on one PC)

So I'd like to leave this here, maybe this information will help someone in the future.
