Maganda house reef at walkable buong isla. Meron nga lang season ng jellyfish kaya mas ok kung tanong muna.
Dala ka ng snorkeling set og life vest. Parang meron sila doon pero ako kasi laging may dala kasi naa grado yung lens ng mask ko.
Hintay hintay lang kami ng sale, parang 4000 ata binayaran namin 2 nights (for 2) tapos nasa 8000 ang incidentals (actually tumaas bill namin dahil sa draft na heineken nila na malamig)

Discovery Samal is the one I've went to before. Never went to Dusit Thani so I can't say. Idk why Im even commenting because I haven't experienced both but I really like the desserts in Discovery Samal and the staff was pretty nice to us when we went there for a family party. We don't have children in the family everyone is 20+. Didn't see any children either during that lunch. But staff isn't rude even when my mom asked what they would recommend multiple times.
but eto lang options, Dusit talaga, especially if you are a fan of thai food, rarely you can have thai food served in buffet na ok. mas ok pa facilities.

I've been to both. For me mas value for money ang Dusit Thani Plantation. Mejo layo pero ganahan ko sa beach and pools. Naa sila bago na pool and naa pod sila new resto sa other side. Peaceful pod kaayo and dako kaayo ang place, lami mag walking2x and picnic. Sa food, ok-ish ra and pwede na. Mas lamian ko sa Discov Samal na food but mas mahalan ko sa food dadto (2.5k per hd sa buffet).

ALSO very good ang service sa pearl farm pinangga kaayo mo sa staff.

We stayed at Dusit Lubi Plantation last Aug 2025 for 3D2N and we enjoyed it more than Discovery Samal. For us, mas daghan activities gina offer ang Dusit Lubi and mas ganahan mi sa food nila kahit medyo pricey din. Must try ang ilahang LUBI PIE! 😋🤤
Its an almost 2hr drive from Davao City, pero pwede ka mag avail sa free shuttle nila, roundtrip! 🥰 call mo lang yung reservations para maka kuha ka ng slot. Sa Dusit Thani Hotel ang pick up/drop-off🥰

Altho food is pricier in discovery, I think its better than lubi’s. Room is nice naman. May pool din sila in a villa equivalent sa lubi. Samal is also nearer.
For lubi, you do get to feel the exclusivity. Rooms are nice and decent. Not worth the long drive for me ang lubi. Good to try maybe once.
But if there’s a place that you would go back again and again between the 2, its samal.

I don’t have clear memories kay last adto namo was 2022 for dusit and 2024 for discovery pero I remember Discovery being so pricy and yet meh ang room, ang food dile full board, super crowded (to be expected kay they have lots of rooms), and just overall less relaxing vs. Dusit. Dusit naman layo ang biyahe, pero at least we got the suite with exclusive pool. Generous sila sa food. Full board ata to amo that time and they even send to your room if you don’t feel like eating sa buffet. Accommodating staff, pwede magpa-laundry, daghan mi mga special request na gi-cater nila. Peaceful vibes at night. Mas bet nako and tanaw nako mas limpyo ang room sa Dusit, though basig naa ra mi advantage that time kay relatively new pa. Ambot lang karon what’s the condition of each resort, though.

We were there on a weekday. Obv, it can get crowded on weekends, just like other must go areas.
I can only hope na okay ang Dusit Lubi plantation karon no because the Dusit Hotel experience that we’ve had very recently was a total mess. One hour waiting time to check in, gave us the wrong room when we checked in, unannounced emergency simulation prompting us to get out of our room when we heard the alarm and nag-fire exit mi unya wala ra daw diay to. Basta you get the picture.

personal preference- if we go with kids, we prefer discovery samal tapos mag villa. less travel time means less chaos at least with my kids.
