Am I the only person that sees a similarity between Enir Ilim and Kiln of the first flame from DS1?
It's always fascinated me how they look so similar, even ever so slightly.

  • I think they're thematically very similar places, ancient sites where the hubris of the gods set history on its course. GRRM also loves this sort of vibe, see Asshai, Hardhome and Valyria for examples - ancient, mysterious places where seismic power shifts happened in the foggy depths of the past.

  • The building in the center is a lot closer to the one in the Painted World but both have similar architectural aesthetics.
