• Ironically I think Prime Artorias would lose while corrupted Artorias would win.

Prime Artorias is susceptible to corruption and decay as shown by the Abyss and his encounter with Manus. However, corrupted Artorias doesn’t seem to have much of a mind left, and can buff himself with the Abyss that likely goes beyond the strength of simple madness since the Frenzied Flame isn’t directly involved.

So Libra would attempt to peer into Artorias’s mind only to see the Abyss staring back. And we all know that Libra is ironically susceptible to madness despite corrupting others with it.

Nah, the great shield prime artorias carried was blessed and protected him from corruption and the abyss. He had to sacrifice that shield and its blessing to protect Sif, forcing him to block Manus's attacks using his great sword which broke his sword arm. Meaning the corrupted artorias was not only insane, but also used his greatsword in his shield hand and the other was broken.

I think prime artorias was much stronger than we think.

Fair. Forgot about the shield being that way. Yeah, he’d likely be able to block the madness with it.

Why didn't he just dodge the attacks, was he stupid?

I’d like to believe Prime Artorias might be able to do it. High honor and respect, Gwyn sent him by himself to take care of Manus alone. Bro lost by having to cast aside his shield to protect Sif, sacrificing his sustain against the abyss. However, that could be cope and misremembering the lore.

Corrupted definitely has a high chance without a doubt.

It wasn't the abyss that corrupted Artorias, it was Manus.

me when im so close to thinking but instead choose not to

  • Patches

patches will kick them all into a pit

  • Libra summons another Artorias

    Artorias [Two working arms]

  • The GOAT wins.

  • artorias is just so cool man idk

  • Well you know, Berserker Lancelot already has Madness Enhancement, so he'd fight normally under madness, so he'd win...

    What do you mean ?

    Artorias who ?

  • Who is the second dude?

  • Considering Libra can alter the balance of reality at will, I have to give it to him

  • Definitely not fraudtorias

Why do people keep calling him a fraud

Because he did not defeat the Abyss, the Chosen Undead did. He's still a major badass tho.

Idk, I have my misgivings regarding the chosen undead. I find it hard to believe that, throughout the whole game, all the major enemies they fight are weakened until they get to Manus and just kill the literal creator of the abyss. I feel like something had to have weakened him.

The four lords besides gwyn are in prime condition and they’re the strongest things we fight lorewise.

Only lore significance is about how he supposedly conquered the abyss when he actually lost.

Because he got credit for the stuff you did, you saved dusk, saved sif, saved oolacile, stopped the abyss "temporarily" and defeated Manus. But the legend is tied to Artorias who failed. Even if you don't do the DLC, Alvina the talking forest hunter cat says the legend of Artorias is an exaggeration.

Getting downvoted but I literally just said unbiased facts. It's not like it's a theory it's accurate story and lore lol. Take it up with Miyazaki.

Couldn’t beat manus Couldn’t save dusk Couldn’t save oolacile Ostracized the other three knights Couldn’t save sif

    Goat artorias btw

    He literally saved Sif

You’re saying that like any knight is casually takin out Manus

Real. Bro failed and got all the credit but let’s forget that for a moment “he’s still wholesome and cool and brave!” he still serves Gwyn come on y’all

  • Artorias is a fraud he isn't as strong as we think he is. Definitely Libra win's

Says a YouTuber and select redditors

  • libra. theres a reason artorias is night 2 and libra is a nightlord

Tbf, it's not exactly tied to power scaling. It's mostly gameplay difficulty. Nameless King would shred Artorias and defeat most of the Night Lords, by lore.

Most Night Lords are generally weaker than an Elden Lord, more akin to champions of the Night (with Heolstor being the exception). So a god like Nameless King who was nearly as strong as Gwyn will generally be stronger than them.

not at all. nightlords are incredibly powerful

  • fraudtorias doesn't stand a chance
