this is why I don’t use humanity

  • I feel bad for some guys I can just imagine it "Finnaly after dying so many times I got here" Dark Spirt Sephiroth has invaded! "EXCUSE ME WHO?"

"Dark spirit Bonking Dafoe has invaded!"

“ dark spirit UNGAH BUNGAH “

  • The best thing I've ever had happen was getting invaded. Dropped 99 Hero souls and left.... great introduction but it NEVER happened again

Dark Souls 2 here, had someone drop two fully upgraded lightning maces (I was struggling) although he did proceed to violently kill me but honestly those maces carried my first playthrough

Man’s was there with a purpose. But he wasn’t heartless

"you are a bad guy, but that does not mean you are a bad guy"

Careful with taking stuff from strangers. There’s ways to get people banned by making them pick up banned items in Ds2

But I always take random things from strangers, it could be free drugs :(

It definitely could be that’s true

This happened to us too during Return to Drangleic two years ago!! Bro was a real hero.

  • I was in Anor Londo with 2 summons, about to hit O&S when someone invaded. He took one look at the 3 of us and started booking it in the other direction 😂

I did most of my PvP in the forest covenant back in the day. Gank squads were common and I got quite good at getting 1 or 2 before I went down. That invader just needs to be brave.

  • As someone who has played for 100 hours and beaten the game once, PVP encounters bring me a huge amount of anxiety. I’ve only managed to fight one person off, ever! Do I need to git gud? Probably. Will I ever? No

Nah, I have thousands of hours in these games and suck at PvP lol. It's usually janky and a bunch of nonsense.

Lag really makes it hard some times with countering invasions as it becomes slowly picking at each other. Back stabbing is best if you can but is a weird position to trigger it.

I don't think you can git gud at Dark Souls 1 PvP. Shit is so janky you are getting backstabbed from the front from 20 feet away. I enjoyed PvP in Dark Souls 2,3, Bloodborne and ELDEN RING but never in Dark Souls 1. It's just horrendous

I've been sherpa'ing my homie through, and I got invaded before his summon appeared. I was at TOTG fire#2 hiding, and a wrath of the gods cast sent them flying into the void. About as close to a skill kill as I've done in pvp.

If I could find a lootable kill pit, I'd go gravelord

PvP is pretty ass in DS1 IMO. Too many busted weapons/spells and too much lag for it to be that interesting. Most of the time it's either Dark Bead spam, Dark Flame spam, backstab fishing, Tranquil Walk of Peace shenanigans, or giant dad. And that's not counting cheaters and people who do suicide runs to twink out to one shot low level players in Undead Burg.

DS2 had the best PvP IMO, followed closely by DS3. Bloodborne PvP is shit, and Elden Ring PvP is fine but plagued with meme builds and annoying weapons in my experience.

  • It's fine, you should only be using humanity to save solaire anyway :)

  • Oh yeah I got double backstabbed by a guy called LordFartquaad III with the same set as me in the chaos servant hallway

  • Ahahah. I feel you. But invasion is a great part of the game

  • As an invader I try to take it easy on obviously new players (sometimes). Figured if they have a fun fight maybe they’ll try out pvp themselves and join us.

Other times though I’m invading and fighting teams, that’s when I bust out the DWGR and green blossoms

Can you fight teams? I always thought it was 1 on 1

If people are doing co-op play you can invade the host.

If you're invading you can invade a full group. You can also be summoned by a full group (AKA gank squad) if you put your red sign down. Gank squad are pretty common and in my experience it's rare to go more than a few red sign "duels" without encountering one. At least, that's the case in Oolacile Township, the unofficial PvP arena.

  • Are you sure?

I mean I've been invaded and invaded as well (and by no means am I a vet), but at the same time, I might feel like that for some players, considering DSIII/ER experience.

But real vets, they know stuff that only applies to DSI, Stuff I don't understand either and those tend to gravelord, not invade.

Gravelord cov fights at Anor and Undead berg can be absolutely wild. Some of the best moments in any playthrough of DS1

Any player that goes Gravelording, I know, I have to be watching out for, they be demons.

Except me. I tried gravelording and got my teeth kicked in a bunch and that was after learning a bit about how to do and avoid backstab fishing. I'd get a few wins but I died a lot more

    Respect for trying though.

oooh, when I invade I wait a while to test the waters with the host, but if they are anything decent ill just wakeup backstab them or hyper pivot. Nothing they can do really if they don't understand the tech

Yeah I did one invasion against 2 folks in the forest, I wasn't sure about the skill level, but they for sure didn't mind ganking, so after wake up and a little sprint, I 180 back towards the phantom and quickly pivot for a Backstab.

Suddenly, they don't like the game anymore and the host decided to quit out

Mind you they were past the cat and decided to come back and fight.

  • It be like that sometimes

  • Me after getting bodied in depth 2 of DoN for a week straight

  • This is why nowadays I’ll usually just drop stuff like souls or humanity for people and then dip out. I’ve won enough PvP in my day and there’s no sport in hunting newbies

  • I tried summoning someone for Artorias and an invader spawned in and killed me before the other guy even showed up

  • i feel this deeply.

  • I haven’t done any invasion in DSR this time around I feel bad for new players jejejeje

  • I'm doing my part!

  • Do invaders still expect “honorable “ duels? Because if you invade my game I’m fighting dirty or just killing myself.

  • If anybody bumps into dark bead twinks around lvl 25 tell me where, yesterday i found one of those losers in sen's and made him eat dirt

  • If you're new then sorry, we promise we are mostly here to fight each other!

  • hahahaha you gotta learn to love it!
