She could just google pi and answer tho no? She’s streaming from a computer behind an avatar, she can just open up google on a second monitor and start reading off pi.
Is it that big of a taboo to ask Vtubers that? I have never watched even a minute of Vtuber content and have only become tangentially aware of this drama, so her reaction seems a bit strange to me. Also, she literally sat at home watching these guys on a screen, how can you be "shaking" after that?
Edit: Geez, chill with the downvotes. I have literally no agenda here, I'm just ignorant. Others might be as well, so it's good that I asked, right?
I think it's an issue with the fact that she has some sort of autoimmune thing. Where her immune system is bad that she has to basically always stay at home lest she gets sick, so probably hit a nerve.
It's a general Vtuber thing, but it's not that bad. It's more taboo for Japanese Vtubers considering their idol culture, but it's not exactly cool to just ask them what they look like in real life when they are probably using an avatar for a reason.
It's like seeing someone in a wheelchair and asking what's wrong with their legs. Depending on the context, it can be seen as extremely rude.
Alright, thanks for the explanation. You writing that "they are probably using an avatar for a reason" sort of has me asking, though, if it's some sort of open secret that all Vtubers are ugly or deformed in some way. Like I get that this Ironmouse girl has some sort of illness where she can't leave the house, fair enough. But they can't all have a similar illness, right?
Well, some people don't need a "reason" to be a vtuber. Some just do because they're vtuber fans, or they just want to stream with a digital avatar.
There's also the fact that some vtubers want privacy (for good reason, given how some of their fanbase can be).
As for ugly and deformed, probably not? The only vtubers who do face reveals are the good-looking ones, so that's really all we have to go off of.
V-tubing is a mask, the character is different from the person. So the person's looks are irrelevant. But this doesn't stop speculation, which is annoying.
Then the meme is "you knkw they're probably a 50 year old fat guy irl", which is not true for most, but is still annoying.
Then for ironmouse, she has Common Variable Immunodeficiency, which has left her unable to live a 'normal' life. In fact, one of her early donation goals was to fund a new bed, because she is stuck there. So naturally, when people speculate about her looks, it is even more annoying since it diregards everything she has been through.
It reminds me of two others: Dream and CorpseHusband. I don't knkw much about them, only that people were desperate to knkw what they looked like, and built it up, and some were rude and cringey about it.
To a degree it is a big taboo, you do have to know which vtuber is very privated about their looks and who isn't.
For an example there's this vtuber named ChaCha, and she says her reasoning to stay anonymous is for her children so she prefers vtuber route.
Another one is Cottontail, her reasons are more simple, she likes vtubing and the anonymous aspect AND the fact that doesn't have to prep herself for every stream, be it make up, costume, etc...
Some guys asked her dumb questions during some award show. People didn't like that and found some dirt on said guys. One of them later crashed out on stream and said some nasty things in mandarin.
That's my recollection from my YouTube home page videos I've seen while eating.
People didn't like that and found some dirt on said guys.
Not super hard to do that for either of them, one of them very publicly already did a lot of dumbass shit.
Edit: #1 thing is absolutely wrecking a house that was GIVEN to him and the other guy basically for free by Kai Cenat. There was something more recently that he did that had his mom practically pulling the "I brought you into this world, I damn well can take you out of it" type shit.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but he also basically only got any bit famous because he just kinda crashed Kai's Livestream and followed them around while they were out in public.
How are those even remotely similar? Questioning what someone who uses an avatar looks like offline is no where near as invasive as questioning who they've had sex with
Idk if you've watched the video. But the reactions of the nuisance streamers would have made anyone feel uncomfortable. And I've known some women and ex-colleagues who would get grossed out when asked such questions from these types of people. I wouldn't tell them what my mom and sister looked like
Stupid streamer teams were stupid and loud and a but obnoxious... but nothing actually happened. They asked what you look like and what's your ethnicity. And if peanut was a vtuber. Iron mouse answered. It should have been nothing.
I think people got mad over nothing and iron mouse shat on them. And one of the streamer teens said they don't wanna ever see Iron mouse again and they won't review clips. Honestly...
This is the first time I think Iron mouse just was straight up in the wrong.
What nothingburger drama happened to Ironmouse now?
At this point it's just people shittiv on ironmouse, mainly those guys who asked how she looked like irl.
I never understood the argument of "she said ask anything".
Okay, so if a stranger told me I could ask anything, I'll just ask for their, address bank account number and PIN.
“I will answer any question”
“What are the 100 first digits of pi”
“I don’t know. Next!”

One's an invasive question and yours was random bullshit but ok.
Except they’re both things you can’t reasonably expect them to answer
The first one sure,
The "are you white or black" can definitely make someone uncomfortable
She could just google pi and answer tho no? She’s streaming from a computer behind an avatar, she can just open up google on a second monitor and start reading off pi.
It’s called “ask me anything” not “I will answer anything”
Yes. They dont have to answer it but that does fall in the category of anything

No one said ugly or deformed here, chill out. I am sure the most common reason is, that they just dont want their face to be know publically.
You kinda instantly assumed the worst here.
I doubt other V-Tubers would have such a reaction. They'd probably just dismiss it because it's same old joke that you hear about V-Tubers.

Do you happen to have that video in your YouTube history still?

That channel also covered the entire event from the beginning.

Ironmouse is a streamer who only uses anime style characters like above. Never shows her face.
Other Streamers Rakai and Ray asked what she looked like. Now she’s claiming she felt uncomfortable and was shaking over the conversation.

Thanks, I kewn who were iron mouse but I didnt kewn the second part of The meme
All things aside, my god those guys are obnoxious.
I mean, some people are that anti social
Mouse isn’t antisocial. She just physically cannot be in public places and didn’t like that they were questioning her private identity.
The first question i get it, but then they kept asking more personal "physical trait" question, those were weird
Someone who live streams while not showing their face was shaking over being asked what she looks like? She had to have expected that at some point
or people should understand vtubers hide their face for mostly personal reasons and not cross boundaries and pester them to doxx themselves
Especially Ironmouse, who also does it for health reasons.
It's an invasive question. Do you think it would be appropriate to ask a person you just met how many people they've fucked?
I feel like this is not the same level of question😭
How are those even remotely similar? Questioning what someone who uses an avatar looks like offline is no where near as invasive as questioning who they've had sex with

Yeah? Lmao, some of you are really offended by thin air.
I bet you are a great human being.
No need to bet on that.
